DD hardly cries when she gets hurt, and I am somewhat concerned. If she falls or trips, she smiles. This morning I accidently hit her in the forehead with the door.

She cried for a second and then went right on with what she was doing. Is this normal? I've just noticed that she rarely cries when she falls or bumps herself.

If they can't feel pain, is that some sort of disorder?
My 20-month old niece only cries if she is really hurt - she feel while running the other week and split her lip. She cried then.
On New Year's last year, she was playing with some sort of toy. Turns out she actually cut her finger and it was bleeding. No one knew until we saw the blood. She didn't make a peep! My kid would have been wailing his head off.
Anyway, if you are really concerned, you should talk to your doctor.
The two men in my life. Oh, and I have a husband too...
DS doesn't cry.
He has never cried at shots, he has skinned his knees and elbows many times, split his chin open and almost bitten through his lip.
The only time he whimpered was when he bit his lip. I hate it. I would much rather know that he got hurt by him screaming his head off. It's like it's no big deal to him.
I know he feels pain, he has cried if his finger gets pinched and when he fell out of his crib. We have to make sure and look over him while he plays outside, cause there is a good chance that he has a scrape or something that we would never find otherwise.
