Anyone ever disappointed in a friends name choice? A girlfriend of mine just had a baby and they were team green and keeping the name a secret. She is really hippy, crunchy granola, yoga instructor, doula, organic kind of person. I thought for sure her name choice would be fabulous or at least super hipster, but I was really let down! Anyone ever surprised by a name choice like that?
Oh and they named their little girl Madelyn Grace, she is very precious.
Re: Disappointed in a friend's name?
Every time I see another Addison come up on my news feed, I die a little.

Yes... at first. But once you see them you think, oh, you really are a Madyln. Or in some instances, I really like how the first and middle name sound together so I call them by that (very southern like
Oh, yeah, several.
Bff named her daughter India Adeline. I knew she'd go for something different, but a geo name? Really?!
Her SIL named their daughter Rheagan, and her cousin named their baby girl Tommi Jolene- so heck, at least it's better than those.
I had another friend who couldn't decide between Noah and Aiden for awhile. Thankfully she decided to go with Noah because Aiden means "fiery."
ETA: I forgot that bff's sister named her daughter Lyric. I actually feel bad for the grandparents who have to go around telling other older folks these "interesting" names their kids have come up with.
Ehh... I try not to be. Obviously, I wouldn't want to find out that somebody said, "You named her THAT!?" about my daughter.
However, I do get a little irritated when somebody says I can't use a certain name because they might want it if they ever have a baby...
Yeah, that was rude. And we used the name
But for the record, we planned to anyway.

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Jessica was in the top names well after the 80s. It's a very pretty name, I love it.. coincidently, my name is Jessica and I was born in the 80s. lol
It actually makes sense for them. Her husband is really into comic books and Godzilla and stuff like that. They don't use it openly--like, her parents don't know about it. Most people think her name is Maya Jane.

That's funny, I have a 6 year old daughter named, Nevaeh. I have never personally met another Nevaeh and she is the only one in her school with that name. I still love it. People tell us all the time that they've never heard of that name and how pretty it is. I'm actually surprised that so many people haven't heard of it!
I wonder if it's possible to have that name added to my 2 year old son's name. It would certainly be appropriate.
Co-worker has three kids, Harlie Jo, Carlie Bae, and Phlynn.
I hate it when friends have poor reactions to my name ideas when I think their kids' names aren't that great.
BTW... Conrad is our top choice right now!
