Diagnose my kid

So Tuesday night, Caleb woke up throwing up. He threw up 3 times that night, and woke up the next morning with some messy diapers. He was fine all day Wednesday. 

Wednesday night he was up around 1am, and didn't settle down for nearly 2 hours. He had a huge poop and went back to sleep. Fine all day Wednesday.

Thursday night he slept fine, but woke up with several messy poops through the morning. Fine the rest of the day. 

Friday he woke up throwing up, and had a few messy poops overnight. He was fine all day today.

I just don't get it. It's been a lot of days for a stomach bug. His diet has not changed. He doesn't have any symptoms (runny nose, coughing, fever). Someone suggested it could be allergies/post nasal drip that only irritates him when he sleeps. I can see that explaining the throwing up, but not the diarrhea. If this continues tonight, we'll be heading to the doctor on Monday but I am still concerned about him! 

Any idea what's going on?

    We've had stomach viruses before that kind of came and went for a week or so.  I bet that's what it is, not that it hurts to see your dr if you're worried, but there are definitely viruses that cause those symptoms.  Hope he's feeling better soon, and the rest of you guys stay healthy!

    When Jocelyn had norovirus it was like that, I had it too and it was like that as well. It was horrible. She basically ate banana, pretzels and Gatorade for a solid week. It does sound like a similar bug, she would throw up in her sleep. It is the one and only time she has ever been sick like that and I pray it never happens again. I called the pedi and they just told me what to feed her and give her to drink. If there was no fever and there were wet (pee) diapers and tears then there was no need to go in.

    Thanks ladies. Last night he slept through the night, so hopefully its working out of his system. I had no idea a virus could "come & go" like that. What a frustrating week!
