I'm 17 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. This wasn't exactly planned, and I've had a very rocky road with the father, who I'm no longer with. Plus, my two supposed best friends left me for my "selfish" decision to keep my baby. I thought I could do this on my own, but I really don't have much of a support system. I am on unemployment, food stamps, medicaid, and WIC, as I lost my job just 5 weeks after finding out I was pregnant.
Though I'm 32 years old, I am considering adoption. I don't know that I could go through with it, especially after suffering a miscarriage last year, which makes me feel guilty and selfish. But, my family is very excited, and I don't want to break their hearts. It would be my parents' first grandchild and my brother's first niece/nephew. But, they can't provide me any support either. So, I'm feeling very alone. Adoption may be the best thing for the baby. But, I've always felt like a mother without a child and always knew I was meant to be a mom. As much as my heart is ready, my life really isn't. So, I'm not sure what to do and am feeling very lost. If I had a good support system and women to make friends with, it may make all the difference.
Like I said, my two closest friends left me and the father's useless. So, I don't have anyone to go through this with me. I only have one close friend in the area, but she's never been pregnant. So, I really don't have anyone to relate to. I'm really wearing down with loneliness.
Do any of you ladies know of a single pregnant women's support group in south Florida? I've been desparately looking, but can't find one--even through the National Single Parents Resource Center. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Jaime
Re: Single and Preggers Looking for Support (Group?)
Sorry you are going through all this alone. Do you belong to a church? Maybe you can speak with the priest there that can connect you with a support group you need. Or ask your OB; perhaps he can lead you in the right direct. It is important that you speak to someone about these issues soon to help you make the best decision for you and your baby.
Best of luck!

This exactly!! I could only imagine how difficult this must all be. But from what I can see, you really want and love your baby....I hope you find the help that you need in order to provide for you and your baby. Do reach out to your Ob, he/she may be able to lead you in the right direction and be able to find you some help. I hope that everything falls into place for you very soon
