April 2012 Moms

Guilt Trip

When I first found out I was pregnant, I was so good...I was eating lots of fruits and veggies.  Drinking only water, juice, & milk & staying away from sweets.  I feel like the past 2 weeks or so I've totally blown it.  Junk food, junk food, junk food.  I'm starting to feel really guilty about it & I've got to make a change this week.  I'm just hoping I haven't done any damage to my poor baby who has had eat all the bad stuff I've been eating :(
Blessed to be married to my best friend & so in love with our little man!!

Re: Guilt Trip

  • You haven't! Eating well is actually more important for mom than for the baby. The baby will take the nutrients it needs from you, leaving you depleted if you're not eating well. If you're taking in enough calories and taking your PNVs, the baby is fine!!

  • Technically the baby isn't "eating" what you are eating and I am sure that it is getting enough stuff otherwise there would be issues. Lots of women eat junk food in the first tri when they are feeling really yucky and tired. I was the same, but just start snacking on fruit and slipping veges into your dinner. Try and be bothered to cook as well. I know it's hard but you save a lot of money as well

  • I feel ya. I've been eating whatever I can hold down. But I did discover a new fruit I like in the making!
    due april 10th :))
  • What new fruit?? I found out that my allergy to strawberries has gone and its coming into summer here now so they'll be in season :)

  • ugh...I know the feeling. But unfortunately my body  has now decided to reject milk products. And I LOVE milk, cheese, yogurt, pudding, & anything to do with diary. I have to go out and find some lactaid. My dr said it was okay to take. All I'm craving is a really tall glass of milk!

  • I think you are fine as long as you are taking a PNV. Do the best that you can but no one is perfect and if you deprive yourself of all sweets you will just cheat later so might as well indulge here and there, just don't go crazy.
