Any tips for day before GTT?

I have my test tomorrow morning and am wondering if anyone has any tips for what to eat and not to eat today. I have to go in fasting and am going to try to drink as much water as possible today.
Edited because I am an English teacher and that's what we do.

  • Stick to low glycemic foods (cut the carbs and if you do have carbs, ones that don't raise your blood sugar up)...  But in all actuality, if you're going to pass/fail, it was going to happen...  Don't get too worked up about it..  Since it's fasting you shouldn't have anything to worry about in terms of "seeding" things, but the test is what it is...

  • You really should just eat what you normally eat, but be reasonable.  Not a good idea to eat half an apple pie or anything.
  • I had mine today and I ate two hardboiled eggs before the test. Apparently the first test I don't have to fast and I just drink the sugar drink and they check in an hour. The second is 3 draws, one before, one an hour after and one two hours after and that one I should fast for.

    Since eggs are low in carbs I thought it would be fine to eat before hand.

  • Don't eat a big bowl of ice cream right before bed.  Apparently, your blood thickens while you sleep.  This is why I failed my 1hr and had to go do the 3hr (which I passed)

  • I didn't have to fast for my one-hour. But, I did have it at 8am in the morning. So, the day before I just didn't completely overload on sugary snacks, but basically ate regularly and drank water. The next day, before I went in, I ate two scrambled eggs for breakfast. And, I passed with flying colors :-) Good luck!!

  • To me, eating differently the night before is like cheating on the test.  Just eat as normal.   I didn't need to fast for the one hour.  I had my morning coffee as per usual.  You either have it or you don't.  GL!
