Where to register?

Hi DCers!

I'm recently back to the area and even more recently pregnant.  I know it's early to think about registries but my mom will be coming up soon and wants to help "get things started" with me so I'd like to get an idea of where the best places to register are around here.

 I love Target but had issues there during my wedding registry so will probably avoid it.  I'm thinking Amazon and Buy Buy Baby seem to get good reviews but would prefer to hear from others.  What do you think?

    We registered at Babies R Us, there is no BBB near us so it was more convenient. Congrats and welcome!

    Where are the people who will likely be buying gifts for you? Are they likely to buy online or in person? I tend to prefer BuyBuyBaby over Babies R Us, but we registered at both BuyBuyBaby and Babies R Us with DS because (1) not everyone likely to buy for us was near a BuyBuyBaby and (2) I knew that a number of people would want to shop in person. I also knew that Babies R Us is a place where people might check for a registry even if they didn't ask where I was registered or hear about it because of a shower. I didn't think my particular friends and family were as likely to think of Amazon as a place to look for a registry, even if they shop there often. (I do buy a lot of baby/toddler stuff there myself, though.)

    we did babies r us and amazon.  we are not close to a BBB.  we didn't have any complaints:-)

     Good points.  I like the BBB website quite a bit more but think BRU would be much easier for friends/family.  My peers are more likely to use amazon (plus, the cloth diaper selection there is much better) so maybe I'll use both of those.
