Parenting after a Loss

WWPALD: Rash... PIP

Wait until Monday to see if it clears, and call Pedi?  Go to a weekend Pedi office/urgent care tomorrow?  He's been pooping more than normal but everything else seems fine.

ETA: It's gotten worse throughout the day rather than better.

I'm guessing it's just contact dermatitis but I don't want to miss anything...

Re: WWPALD: Rash... PIP

  • Call the after hours line and ask them?

Since it's getting worse, I'd be a bit concerned.

  • I posted it on FB and got some good advice too.  I think we're going to wait and see until the morning.  He just went down for the night so I don't want to disturb him.  I don't feel like it's an emergency at all.

    Thanks ladies!

  • I wouldn't worry about it, if he's not showing other symptoms, maybe just give the doc a call if it's still there on Monday.

  • 5ths Disease?

Does he have a runny nose, fever, or any cold-like symptoms?

  • DS has eczema and his face gets like that sometimes...but not quite as thick.  It gets worse if he has a runny nose b/c he wipes the snot onto his cheeks and they dry out and get irritated faster.  There were times he'd go to school looking normal and come home looking similar to that.  It can flare up really fast.  I'd say if its still bad/worse tomorrow take him to a walk in clinic.  They can't diagnose that over the phone.

  • It may not mean much, but my niece had a similar rash on her cheeks and allergy testing showed a milk and egg allergy. It was an allergy induced exzema (sp?).

  • To me, it looks like a teething rash...but I'd definitely get another opinion.

  • Thanks ladies!  It looks a TON better this morning.  I'm going to get him into the pedi this week though to rule out an allergy.  He had some corn which I fear is a trigger.  He has to get his flu booster anyway.  Boo.
