I'm not sure what the point of this is... I haven't posted on this board (or any really) in a few weeks. I've been around since the beginning, but haven't been a super active poster- definitely more of a lurker. I'm really not looking for approval from the interwebs , just something I always think about when I read FFFC.
Re: So... am I considered one of the newbies?
I wonder (and feel) the same way! Though, I've recently changed my SN since the bump gods wouldn't fix my profile and I couldn't do anything with it. I don't mind being a "newbie" since I wear big girl panties. I often also wonder what my poster status would be if I had kept the same SN from when I joined in 1999 while planning my wedding and then again in 2005 when I had DD1.
I recognize your SN
so you're good with me.
Sorry to post and kind of run- LO was getting grumpy and likes to be danced. I definitely had an easy baby until this past week. Good to know I'm not the only one who's in the same situation.
On the plus side, I recognize both of you
I'm in the same boat...been here since February; just don't post very much. I don't aspire to be one of the cool kids and I follow all the rules-I didn't post my birth story since I'm a "rando", and I don't post ridiculous questions that get on the regulars' nerves. I mostly ignore the posts about the regulars taking back the board, because I can mostly understand where they're coming from. I just like to read the posts on this board. I spend more time on 0-3 and C-Sections now though.
ETA-there are a TON of names lately that I don't recognize, either.
I feel the same way (I got more active in the few months before W's birth). Maybe we need a classification in between newbie and regular.
I'm another one of those "newbies" who's actually been lurking here for a long time - since I got my BFP in January. There's a couple of reasons I post more now - one is that I work full time and now that I have an outside baby, I'm off work for the first time in... well, forever, and just have more time (I don't have a job where I can bump from work). The 2nd is that I had a really easy pregnancy and just didn't feel the need to seek advice or help. Now that LO is here, I have a lot more things I"m wondering about so I find myself posting more often.
As far as "newbies" vs "regs" I don't get real caught up in all of that. I try to be respectful when posting, but I also don't intend to just not post here because I haven't been active. It's a September Mom's board, and as far as I'm concerned, pushing a kid out my vajayjay in Sept this year gives me just as much right to post here as anyone
Although I do spend more time on the 0-3 board just because it's more active.
Having said all of that, I respect the fact that there are ladies here who have been active since getting their BFPs and that because they all "know" each other, they're more likely to respond to each other's posts, and just kind of ignore posts from people they don't know. I"m totally fine with that and understand it. I just don't get too worked up about such things!
Look forward to getting to know you girls... :-)
GVSU- you are definitely not a newbie.
The way I define a newbie is someone I don't recognize. I was extremely active on here up until a week before my c/s. I have only been on a fw times since having Evangeline. If I recognize a name, it means the person didn't come on right before or after their baby was born, thus not a newbie to me.
Either way, you have been around since the beginning.
...or August...or October....
I too have been around since the beginning but only posted here and there if I had a question or something to contribute. I've always been a lurker though and read a ton. I'm trying to be more active now though. I have an avatar, but don't know how to do the siggy pic. I will search the board to find out how to do this and hopefully will have one soon
