Two Under 2

Thank goodness I found this board....

I am now 8 weeks along and have a 6 month old.  I enjoy reading other mama's posts on here, so thank you for being on this board!  Not sure if reality has set in yet, but it will, I'm sure!  We haven't told anyone yet because we are just not looking forward to people's (especially our family's) reaction.  We don't want negative energy, just positive comments, which we aren't sure we will get from family members.  Oh well, it is our life, right?  Anyone else have trouble telling family?  Also, my brother and SIL have been "trying" for years and can't seem to get pregnant with their second, so I feel really bad telling them, too. *sigh*

  • Congrats and welcome! Positive energy is awesome, and you sound like you are a very upbeat person!  You will get some (or a lot if you were me) negative comments, just be prepared to smile and nod and don't let it bother you.  I still have trouble "letting it go" sometimes so I have a few prepared comments for those "special" people that comment Stick out tongue

  • Congrats! I understand not being too fond of telling family. Personally we didnt tell ours until I was 19 weeks after my anatomy scan when we cpuld tell them the sex of the baby.. my mom was a little hurt we waited a bit long.. but see my cousin has 3u3 (well not anymore) but I heard the talk behind her back about that and didnt want it.. So I told my family if they had nkthing nice to say then keep it to themselves before I announced anything.. Yes I was a little defensive to start but we planned it this way.. my kids were not "accidents" nd it killed me when they thought DD was so I knew Id get snark for DS..Good luck!
