I just got frustrated, took all my milk out of the freezer, and with my husband's help, put it back in a bit more organized.
Two questions...anyone know a good way to organize the milk? (I have SO much of it, and it's in a regular freezer)
Also, I had the freezer door opened for awhile while doing this and the milk in and out. I noticed toward the end that some of it was starting to thaw on top just a tad. No big deal, right? I'm all paranoid!

I never heard of the gift bag system, but wish I had known about it! I have a shoebox on the bottom shelf where i keep the oldest stuff and always pull from that first. I just set it up arbitrarily where the right side of the top shelf is the next oldest, and the left side is the newest. I rotate through every couple weeks and shift frozen bags at that point.
edited to add that the semi-thawed milk should be perfectly fine!
He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

...big brother to...???? Due March 2014!
I am also using our regular freezer and use the shoebox storage method: freeze flat, put old in the front and new in the back. Think of it like a vending machine. It works for us to make things as easy as possible for DH (who has to feed her while I am in classes). I freeze in 3-4oz increments depending, and one box holds about 40oz.
I just watched the giftbag method on youtube from this thread and it also seems brilliant. I'm not sure I have room in my freezer for it, though... maybe with a bit of reorganizing. I need to receive a gift first!
