I have a fancy list of questions, yes i am putting the the cart before the horse but I need to know!
How many cycles have you done? Which protocol? Do you remember the exact dosages of which meds you were on? (trying to price it out, I do realize everyone is different, but i want to get a good guesstimate) Did the RE initially prescribe way more then you needed? Way less? How was your response? How many did you put back? How old were you at the time? Did you get your bfp?

How many cycles have you done? 1 Which protocol? Long lupron Do you remember the exact dosages of which meds you were on? (trying to price it out, I do realize everyone is different, but i want to get a good guesstimate) No idea...I know that I needed to increase my Lupron dosage and my Follistim remained the same, as well as my intramuscular progesterone Did the RE initially prescribe way more then you needed? Way less? About right....knew my response based on 4 previous IUIs How was your response? Great...26 retrieved...23 fert....all poor quality most likely due to PCOS How many did you put back? 2 How old were you at the time? 33 Did you get your bfp? No
That does help! What are you going to do with your frosties?
I am hoping someone can say specifically "I took X drug for X days at X dosage then upped it to X dosage for X more days and then triggered" Or something like that. High hopes I guess. lol

I took Follisitim at 125 units for 8 days....I never had to adjust. I had done 4 IUIs prior so my RE really knew how I responded to the stims.
As for frosties, I had none That is how poor my egg quality was.
FWIW re: frosties......we were initially not going to freeze any, but changed our mind when 23 of the 26 retrieved fertilized. In the end it didn't matter, b/c I had to do a 3 day transfer and the rest never made it to freeze.
After going through the whole process, there was no way I would want to go through that again if I don't have to.
You know my last protocol, via PM. Did you want me to send you the break-down list of how much OOP expense I had for the meds from my Feb cycle? As far as buying the meds that my RE prescribed, I bought 4-5 days worth and then on about day 3 or so he would tell me if I would need more. I didn't want to buy too much and have leftovers. So much easier to buy as you go, since it only took 24 hours for FedEx to deliver "next day". There was once when I needed something extra that night and my RE had it in office for me to purchase. HTH! If you want any more info let me know.
TTC #2 since Nov '07
Tried 4 cycles of Clomid, TI, Gonal-f, and IUI's - all BFFN's
Both tubes removed Nov '09
Low AMH = 0.3
IVF #1 for Feb '10 - cancelled due to poor response - Gonal-f and Repronex
IVF #1.2 for June '10 - Gonal-f, Menopur, and micro Lupron
ER - 6/19 (2 retrieved), ET - 6/22 (1 transferred with ICSI), Beta 7/5 = BFFN
IVF #2 for Nov '10 was cancelled due to poor response - Follistim, Repronex, and micro Lupron
IVF #2.2 for Feb '11 - Gonal-f, Repronex, and Ganirelix
ER - 2/24 (8 retrieved), ET - 3/1 (2 transferred with ICSI), froze 3, Beta 3/11 = BFFN
FET - 4/19 (3 transferred), Beta 4/28 = BFP, EDD 1/4/12
Amanda- I am so sorry you didn't get any frosties. If they are such poor quality are you thinking of going for an egg donor? What is your next step? I'm still cheering for you so much over here!
Hope4us- I would like to see the break down. I am researching prices of buying here, vs. c, vs. online. I know I can get them online for a lot cheaper but they take several business days (7-10 non rushed and 3-5 rushed). I can order them from Costco but they take 1-3 days depending on which day I order, they are mid-price. The clinic has a pharmacy and is immediate but they are $$$. I guess I am trying to figure out a rough amount of how much it would cost for a cycle if I ordered it all online and how much if I used the clinic's pharmacy.
I of course will budget extra just in case but it would be nice to know what my goal to save is.

The reason we left our old RE is bc she never diagnosed me with PCOS or insulin resistance. In retrospect, my new RE believes that those 2 conditions are the reasons for my high response and poor quality. He feels that now that I have both of these under control, I have a much better chance. If we didn't have DD and it was determined that we needed donor eggs, we would explore that, but as of now, it isn't the right choice for us.
I am cheering for you too. Us old timers have need to bring some BFPs to this board ASAP.

How many cycles have you done? I have done 2 retreivals but only 1 transfer because of my lining Which protocol? For retrieval cycles I have done menopaur, bravelle, baby asprin, Viagra (For my lining) and mentax (folic acid) and ganerelics Do you remember the exact dosages of which meds you were on? I believe that I was on about 2 vials of Menopaur and 3 vials of bravelle a night...they come in packs of 5.
Did the RE initially prescribe way more then you needed? Way less? I was prescribed way more than I needed so that I could get refills whenever I needed them. How was your response? In terms of follicles, I always respond very well. My lining on the other hand is always a problem
How many did you put back? I only transfered two because my uterus is unicorn shaped and too small for 2-3 babies. How old were you at the time? For the first transfer, I was 30 Did you get your bfp? I did, but lost the pregnancy in the CP
I didn't want to know my total, so I never added up all of my medicine orders, but I spent somewhere between $4,000 - $5,000 on just meds. And got 2 eggs. And I'm only 31. For someone my age my doc said the med total is usually around $2,000- 2,500
I hope much less money and better response for you!

Which protocol? I think it was considered "antagonist" Do you remember the exact dosages of which meds you were on? (trying to price it out, I do realize everyone is different, but i want to get a good guesstimate)
no, but i took HIGH dosages because I was a really poor responder, even worse than expected based on my high FSH level. Did the RE initially prescribe way more then you needed? Way less? technically prescribed more than I needed, but in the form of refills available, I had to order refills during my cycle because I used so much of several meds. Still, I did end up with some left overs. I ordered from online or mail order specialty pharmacies in the US. How was your response? terrible. I had 3 follicles retrieved of which only 2 were mature eggs How many did you put back? one (3dt), we only had one egg that fertilized so we only had one embryo How old were you at the time? 31 Did you get your bfp? yes
Married June '03. DS born Jan '09. DD born Feb '12. No, we didn't choose to be childless for the first 6 years, only the first 3.
