Is your DC obsessive about anything in particular?

DS is really obsessive when it comes to where things go in the house. For instance he knows I always hang in school bag on the laundry door, so that is where it must be or he gets mad. If DH drives my car he says no mommy's and points to the drivers seat, we always sit at the same spot at the dining room table and he can tell you where we sit, certain toys must be put back in the same spot as they were when he got them out. just little things like that. Is this normal? We are neat freaks at our house but we have never mad him do things a certain way KWIM? I'm just thrilled and excited when he helps me clean up toys I could care less if they go back in the same exact spot.

  • Yes - washing his hands.  I blame his grandfather for that!

He won't even use his hand to push himself up when he falls - he pushed up with his wrists.  It's wierd.

  • Loading the player...
  • having his hands dirty and the basement door has to always be closed (at other houses too).
  • My DD is not in the least a neat, tidy or routine-driven toddler, but she gets really weird and obsessive with Play-Doh.  It is the only thing that gets her panties in a wad.  She asks for either her "blue Play-Doh" or "red Play-Doh" and then she goes around holding it in her hand and saying "blue Play-Doh" or "red Play-Doh" over and over again.  And it has to stay in a perfect ball of dough....if you smash it, or poke it with your finger, all hell breaks loose and you get a spectacular tantrum complete with crocodile tears.  Freaking Play-Doh, man....I'm tempted to just throw it out completely - it's so not worth the drama.
