Breaking out

Hi, all!

Ok, so within a month after going off BC I started to notice more frequent breakouts and just oilier skin and hair in general. For the past week or so, it's been worse than usual. I am breaking out all over my face, neck and even around my chest. Has anyone experienced this with pregnancy? I know pregnancy can cause some crazy skin-related things (my sister had those brown splotches on her face with her first born), I'm wondering if acne can also be caused.

Hormones can cause outbreaks, yes. We can't tell you if yours are PMS or pregnancy related. If you're far enough a long for it to be causing outbreaks, you'll probably turn a test positive.

I have been breaking out like a pubescent teenage girl since I went off the pill in April.  It's awful.  My face, neck, chest and back are covered.  I used to have such perfect skin.  Sigh.

Everyone I know that went off the pill got what I call "post pill acne"    It was along the side of my face, my neck, my upper back - just gross.  It took maybe 6 months to finally finally go away and get clear again.

I have this exactly. I didn't know everyone got it, I thought my skin was turning the clock back to the mid-90s out of some strange need to exact revenge for the ridiculous clothes I used to wear back then.  I went to the dermatologist (for actual problems - not zits) and he told me to wash my skin with dove soap and gave me some topical benzoyl peroxide, Epiduo. Now, my dermatologist is about 70 and male, and I'm not sure he's up on the latest in skincare, so I have not taken him up on it yet. I use Cetaphil and am hoping that since I've been off the pill for 6 months it will go away.
