Trying to Get Pregnant

When is it too early to test?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I wasn't sure if I should try testing 5 days before or just wait until I actually miss AF.

My H has been taking note of some of my "symptoms" lately and it makes me excited that I just might be!

headaches, sore chest, peeing frequently, & the feeling I could be sick but it doesn't actually happen(which was how my sister was)... I'm sure those don't all sound like I could be but I'm a little hopeful... any comments are welcome! Thank you!

  • How many dpo are you?

  • You could test early, however you run the risk of getting an inaccurate result.  At the end of the day, it's completely up to you and whether you think you are able to cope with the possibility of getting a result you don't want to see.. then again, you may very well get your BFP Smile  All depends on your comfort level, but I would personally recommend waiting until after AF is due.

  •  Are you temping or charting to know for certain when you O'ed?  I see that you recently got married, which brings added stress that could have resulted in delayed O. AF might not actually be "due" for awhile.  In terms of your symptoms, nausea is a symptom that generally isn't experienced until about 5-6wks. pregnant. In which case, you should get a + HPT.

ETA: If you O'ed the 23rd, you are only about 5DPO. You would not be feeling any real symptoms. Implantation likely hasn't occured yet.

This. Way too early. Wait another week and then test. I am 7DPO and not even thinking of testing until 12 or 13 DPO if I even test.

I'm a POAS aholic, and still wouldn't test until atleast 9DPO.

LOL. No, I definitely need a cup of coffee. I don't know how I lost 2 days this week.  Either way, the point remains the same, 7 days is still too early to test. :P

As all PPs said, it's too early.

With that being said, for some odd reason in like my 2nd or 3rd cycle (I want to say 3rd), I tested early (4 or 5 days before AF was due) because phantom symptoms were driving me nuts.  Seeing that BFN eased my mind and allowed me to wait the extra few days for AF somewhat stress free.

(But again, BFN's don't upset me because I've only been trying since June and I'm not so sure our timing has been good.  If I were further along in my TTC journey, then it might be different; everyone is different)

    Yes to the bolded.

  • I am 6DPO, so I can definitely relate... this is my first 2ww, and it's driving me nuts! I'm happy to see I'm not the only one :) I actually went and bought a thermometer today, so that next month (if there is a next month), I can be more accurate, as I think it will cause less stress after this month!

  • It's nice to see that too! Thank goodness... I've been asking a girl I work with how early she tested and she said until she missed AF... which I dont want to wait but I know I need to!  I so want to convince H to go and get a test just to check lol

     GL!
