My grandpa Dale passed away this year and I thought it might be nice to honor him if we have a boy. You certainly don't hear the name a lot these days, which I like. On the other hand, is it too outdated you think for a first name and maybe better suited for a MN?

Re: Dale - yay or nay?
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
I really don't think a name can be outdated.. it doesn't expire
I like the name Dale
Like you say it's not used much these days which is a bonus in my books
Well I am 100% biased on that name. It's my Dad's name and he's a complete a-hole. In fact every "Dale" I have ever met has been a little "off"
Happy to hear your Grandpa is a great "Dale" and worthy of honoring though
I'd probably use it as a middle name if that was the case.

Makes me think of Dale Earnhart.
It's not my favorite so I prefer it as a middle name, but I'm all for diversifying the name population, so if you like it, I'd say go for it!
It makes me think of one of my favorite movies (Stepbrothers).
It's NMS. I don't like it at all as a first name, but maybe as a middle name if you want to honor your grandfather.
