Pre-School and Daycare

ummm - when did my kid learn Left and Right?

OMG - DD asked which way we were turning in the car today, I pointed left and said is that "Left or Right"  That's Left - no hesitation, not a thought - that's left - w/ total confidence.

what the heck?

Last night, she also pointed to a dinosaur picture and said "that's a T-Rex"  It wasn't, but whatever. .. where did that come from.

Seriously, somedays I get annoyed that I don't know what goes on all day, every day at preschool, but WOW, I hope they keep it up w/ all the informtion and skills for her.

Now if they could do something about getting her to putting on her clothes in less than 30 minutes then I'd be really impressed.

If they can let me know, I have one I'll send to them.

I picked up Circo's version of the M&D Responsibility chart at Target for DS this week and he has gotten WAY better about getting dressed in the morning.  He only gets to pick out a special magnet for "get dressed" if he dresses himself as soon as he gets up in the morning.

ditto this.  We have the M&D version (found it on sale on amazon a while ago) and it's really starting to help.  We can get dressed in only 15 minutes now....LOL.  Another big thing it's helped with is the whining.  Yesterday DS started to whine and we simply said, "if you whine you won't earn a smiley".  He stopped immediately.  Not sure how long this will last but so far it's working.

I'm going to Target tomorrow to get this. I don't care how much the darn thing costs if it stops the whining. Seriously it has gotten so bad lately that she has begun just whining "mommy, mommy, mommy" over and over again. When I ask her to use her words to tell me she needs she says nothing so now I'm trying to ignore it but that doesn't seem to be helping.
