Do you talk to your LO in the car?

I realized the other day that when I'm driving I usually just zone out listening to the music. DS is most often content in his seat playing and talking to himself and I realized the only time I usually even talk to him while driving is if he's fussing.

So do you always chat with LO or do you just kind of go off to your own Mommy Planet while driving?

A little of both, but I mainly talk to her until she passes out.

I talk to her on and off.

When she starts fussing, I really start talking or singing.

Sometimes. If he's being really quiet I'll ask what he's doing and if he's talking to himself I'll ask him who he's talking to.

I'm not allowed planet surfing when Emma is in the car. She's aggravated by red lights and lets go of her sippy cup long enough to yell "Go Mommy! Go Go Go!"
"Emma, I can't the light is red." She claps "Go Mommy!" (like you go girl!) then we get through the intersection once the light has changed. "Go Mommy! Go Emma! Go Isla! Go Daddy! (not in the car) Go Aggie (our cat, also not in the car), Go Outside! Go Car! Go Sky! Yyyyyeahhhh!"

It's about a 10 minute drive to DC every morning, and I sing to DS the whole way.

Most of the time I do...I ask him what he's up to, if he's enjoying his toy, what he did at daycare, etc...sometimes I'll tell him what's playing on the radio and try to sing along.

He probably sits in his seat and wonders what Crazy Mom is rambling about.

He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

I do a little of both but most of the time he is playing with his toys or sleeping. When I do talk to him he starts babbling back and gets all cute :)

About half and half- if he's fussy, I'll singsong to him, or if it's a long drive. Also, if he may fall asleep in the car, I'm a d*mn fool- he doesn't transfer fromt he car to the crib, so I'm singing ridic songs to keep him awake!

Like PPs said, I'll talk or sing if he's super quiet or if he's being fussy.  If he's content, I'm kinda scared that if I start talking he'll remember I'm not back there with him and start crying, so I'm ok with being in my own world.

LOL I talk to him all of the time... He LOVES talking and blurting out screams and I just talk to him as if he's saying something really important... We'll usually keep this up the entire ride! LOL

Nope, we ride in silence most of the time unless Juliana is in the back talking and playing. Usually if I start talking to her she gets upset because she remembers that I am in the car with her.

Mommy Planet.  I'll sing if she's fussy (which is scarcely ever!), but in general I pop in a classical music CD and count this as "stimulation."

I sometimes talk, sometimes not. It just depends on whether or not I have anything interesting to say. Not that that stops me on TB... :)

When I'm alone in the car with him I usually talk to him. If other people are in the car, we usually ignore him. In any case, he generally just stares out the window or plays with his toy bar and ignores me!
