I really like the diaper bags that look like oversized purses but the ones I'm finding are $100+. It's hard for me to justify that expense when so many practical, positively reviewed ones that look more like diaper bags are available for $20-30. Any suggestions?

Personally, I'm not into the purse-looking bags, but there are a ton of them on Amazon for a much cheaper price.

I'm with you. I can't justify the price either. Maybe if I was a real bag carrier to begin with it would be different...
Have you tried places like Marshalls and TJMax? Our local Burlington Coat Factory/Baby Depot has a huge isle just dedicated to those big purse diaper bags.
I've seen some cuter ones on Target's website (but not in stores) for under $40.
We're going with one under $30. We're ordering it from ebay. It's not real "purse-like" though so I won't even bore you with the link
.
I bought this one from BRU. It`s leather-type material if you can`t tell from the pic, and looks a lot nicer in person.

I'd second the vote for Skip Hop's bags. They have a model (the Studio, I think) that is purse-like and reasonable. Their bags aren't $30-40, though. Most of them are $60-120-ish but the quality is so much better. I didn't want to spend a lot on a bag either, but when I looked at what was out there, the $30-40 ones seemed to be really cheap-looking and poorly made so I bought the Skip Hop bag. I actually have bought another bag from them since then, too (just b/c I needed another size).
Also, you can find their bags on Amazon if you wanted to learn more about them/read reviews.
Honestly, I invested in a bigger purse. I quickly realized I didn't want to carry a diaper bag and a purse so I throw diapers, wipes and an extra onesie in a ziplock bag in my purse. We have a Chicco diaper bag that stays in the car, for the most part. I'm glad I didn't get anything fancier.
There are a few cute ones by Carters that just came out, like this one for $42:
Otherwise, just buy a purse with lots of pockets inside. I'm finding now that a "diaper bag" vs. a "bag" is almost just like a "wedding cake" vs. a "cake." It just costs more.
