Cloth Diapering

New to this...

Hey everybody;

I am newly pregnant and new to the boards. My DH and I have been toying with the idea of using cloth diapers and have been looking for info online. TBH I am soooo confused. I don't know if I am finding the right sites or if this whole thing really is this hard. Does anybody know of some good resources; I feel like I almost need Cloth Diapering for Dummies or something. Anything would be a great help, my DH is starting to shy away because he thinks it will be too hard and I really want to do this.

  • Read the FAQs (link in header of the board), then come back with any other questions you have.  :)

    Honestly, I have learned SO much by just lurking. If you are newly pregnant than you have some time before you need to start your stash. Just read through the FAQs and lurk on this board. The women here know so much!

    DH and I also took a class that was really helpful. We were able to get a better idea of the different types of diapers, covers, accessories, etc. I would definitely recommend a class to anyone who was feeling a bit lost.

  • Check out the cloth diapering book by Kelly Wells.

  • OK feeling a little embarrassed/silly, especially as a graphic design/comp nerd, but where are the FAQs? sorry I feel like I'm missing it and it's right in front of my face!
  • I highly suggest seeing if there is a Cloth Diapering 101 class in your area.  I live in the DC area, and we have several that are associated with abbyslane.com  I did a lot of lurking, looking at webites, blogs, etc., but going to the class was helpful for my husband to see everything.  It really is easy to do - hopefully your DH can stay on board.  Mine was a little hesitant and first, but now he wouldn't do anything else. (We started with newborn prefolds/covers then moved to Flips when he was big enough.)
