Our son Luke Kristopher was born last night at 10:24pm. He weighed 6lbs 1oz and was 18.5in long. He looks just like his big sister Grace and is absolutely perfect!
He was born at 36w3d but is actually acting like that of a 34-35 weeker. He was having trouble breathing so he was put on O2 then eventually CPAP. He was doing great until his SATs dropped and wouldn't come back up. They did a chest X-ray and found out that his left lung collapsed. He had a chest tube inserted this afternoon and was transferred to a different hospital with a NICU.
Luckily I'm recovering very well this time around and only had a small episiotomy. My dr agreed to discharge me today so I could go to the NICU with my son and DH. My DD is with my mom thank God and I am able to focus on Luke. He seems to be doing better. His SATs are good but his breathing is fast. We are waiting on blood cultures and another chest x-ray. He may need another chest tube or surfactant. It's been a whirlwind of emotions! In just over 24 hrs I've delivered DS, been discharged and am now laying in his hospital room at the NICU. Asking for T&P's for Luke! He's little fighter and has been through so much in his first 25hrs of life. We are looking at him going home in about a week but that all depends on him and his lungs...
Re: Update to being dilated 7cm at OB appt Wednesday (long)
All the best to Luke - a quick and speedy recovery that doesn't cause his mama any more worries than she already has.
Congratulations on his birth - I know he'll be home in no time.

I am so sorry to hear that Luke is having some trouble and hope that he recovers quickly. I am sending T&P your way.
Best wishes to your family and congrats on Luke's arrival!
