Can someone pleas explain?

What exactly is pinterest? I've been seeing it pop up a lot lately, and I'm not really sure what it is, how it works, or if it's something I might be interested in getting involved with.

    It's just a place to collect things that interest you...you pin them to your own board on the site.

    I'm pretty addicted but haven't signed up.  I just copy and paste my finds into a document or bookmark what I need.

    I was the same way until about 2 weeks ago!  :)  It's basically a place where you can "pin" items - pretty much anything - that interests you and then it is "shared" with people.  So, for example, if you find a SUPER cute dress or shoes or item you can "pin" it and it shows up on your pin board.  Then when people search Pinterest for a dress, shoes, or that item (or similar) they could possibly find your "pin" - thus, giving them an idea they hadn't had or whatnot.  It's basically a way to share ideas, products, recipes, decorations, whatever you want with people out there in an "easier" way than just googling it.  You can also "follow" peoples' boards (kind of like with a blog) to see what they add and such.

    It's pretty neat!
