This is bad, but

I was looking through baby names, and I found Kevyn for a girl. And I kinda like it... and the movie Up! is only making me like it more. Common sense tells me no. Someone convince me I would never want to do this to a girl.

    I really don't care for it.However,if you did use it,I would actually prefer the traditional Kevin to Kevyn.I don't think it looks any more feminine with a random Y.

    The y is supposed to be there, it's a legit spelling/name. I actually like it but more if you pronounce it like "key vin" which is not really correct. I think it would be okay for a girl especially since Kevin is a bit out of date for boys now (lots of Kevins when I was growing up, but as I've been teaching...none). I would spell it with a y also so that when people say the name on paper they don't think automatically it's a boy (though they still might).

    You wouldn't. You KNOW you wouldn't and shouldn't do it to a girl.

    Just take a deep breath, and file it under "guilty pleasure names."

    I repeat, STEP AWAY FROM THE BOY NAMES ON A GIRL.

    It's only funny and cute on the bird because it's a boy's name and she was named before they knew her gender. Really, who can tell with a mythical bird?

    Everyone will know your daughter is a girl, and giving her a boy's name won't seem funny, it'll seem weird.

    What about Devon? Similar sound, but it's actually a unisex name.

    My brothers name is Kevin, I cannot get on board with this name for a girl.

    There are so many beautiful girl names, why would you want to use a boy name that is spelled wrong?  Just think how many times she over the next 80 or so years she would have to repeat "That's Kevyn with a y, and no, I'm not male."

    I agree... don't like it at all for a girl. Although an alternate spelling IF you were to make the choice to still use the name after all of these opinions, could be Kevynn. But, still hate it.

    My nurse who was on staff after I had my daughter, she was named Kevin. She was a very nice lady, but it's too odd for me to get behind. Kevin is very masculine and doesn't suit a girl.
