Re: Whoever mentioned pumpkin choc chip cookies...

  • Favorite.  My aunt made tons for my sister's wedding a few weeks ago but I didn't get any leftovers to bring home. :(

  • Yuuuummmm.  I made a batch last week when I was craving pumpkin pie, most of them got eaten on the trip to Vegas with DH's residency.  I think I'll have to make some more this weekend.

  • Does anybody have a recipe for pump choc chip cookies that is more "cookie" than "cakey"? I have tried several different recipes and am still looking for the perfect, almost chewy, larger crumb cookie than I have been able to find so far.

  • Nope, sorry.  The ones that I make turn out more cakey - it must be the pumpkin.

This is what I'm thinking too as I've only ever seen cakey pumpkin cookies.

I'm no baking expert and I may be off base here but I think the more crumbly kind of cookies are because of the butter /flour ratio and usually the only wet ingredients in those cookies are butter and eggs. Since pumpkin has so much water in it I don't know how you'd go about getting a crumbly texture.

Again I could be wrong but it makes sense in my head Wink
