Getting Baby to lay in the bassinet

Hey Mamas,

Its day 3 now for us and we are trying to get Baby Mayah to sleep more in the basinet. My little one only spends 20 min in the pack and play and it vibrates.

Any products or additions that are working for you?

    This.

Gabe slept in his bassinet for the first two weeks, and then wouldn't anymore. He sleeps in his RnP every night now. I think it's more comfortable for him because it's less open.

Exactly!!  Brice started sleeping in bed with us and I couldn't do it anymore, so I made my DH go out and get the RnP after reading about it EVERYWHERE!  I would definitely recommend it! GL

  • I really love our bassinet. DD doesn't sleep anywhere else except in daddy's arms in the recliner lol

  • We've put DH into his crib from the first night home. He does well in it once we get him down that initial time.. I sometimes have to rock him for 20-30 minutes first. After that though, he goes right down after middle of the night feedings & diaper changes. We're lucky I guess :)

During the day, he sleeps in his bouncy seat or on the couch next to me. (If we're not cuddling, that is!)

  • Another vote for the RNP!  DD sleeps well in it all night.

During the day, she sleeps wherever, but usually on the couch.  Sometimes her swing.  She likes to sleep on her tummy (and I'm ok with that) and she can't do that in the RNP.  So she's usually on the couch on her tummy.

  • Lenox wouldn't sleep in his bassinet either, until we started swaddling him in his halo sleepsack swaddler (he broke out of regular blankets). Now he sleeps in it most of the night unless I keep him in bed to snuggle.

  • I tried the escape proof swaddle for her afternoon nap today. I put her in her crib for the first time. She slept really well.

Now she is on her tummy on my chest napping with her hands under her head and legs tucked under. She's too cute to move.

  • Wow thats great, our daughter is only 4 days old and she loves to be in our arms. I guess everyday we are trying to get her to stay in the bassinet longer and longer :)

  • Yes, but when her pacifier falls out of her mouth she has a fit.  :(

I bought this to help with that problem! It doesn't completely eliminate it, but it makes it less frequent.
