Red spotting? possible TMI

Does anyone know what can cause red spotting?  I thought I was getting AF, but no spotting for over 24 hours. 

I am not sure if I may have scratched myself while checking my cervix, but they spotting was hours later.

    I haven't started charting yet, I stopped bcp about 5 weeks ago, I was waiting for my first period to start.  And almost 2 weeks ago, I had brown spotting.

    IMO you're probably starting your period.  Coming off birth control pills can make your cycles wacky.

    Did you stop birth control before the end of the pack?

    It is possible it is breathrough spotting before your period. Pink & brown spotting are completely normal 2-4 days before your period.  Bright red can be normal, especially if it close to your period.

    With no chart and no period and just getting off birth control there isn't much I can offer!
