four tests and told to wait

I've taken four pregnancy test so far. The first two were first response and they had two lines on them. Mind you the second one was faint but still there. The third one was a dollar store brand and it too had a second faint line. Now this morning I used FMU and used First response again and at first I didn't even think there was a line on it. Upon closer inspection you can see a line but it is soooo light. Just wondering if this test was a fluke or the others might have been, maybe it's a chemical pg, or any other ideas? I've called my doctor and they said I need to wait because my period isn't suppose to show up until around the 10th which is forever away I know!!!

Also sorry if this is a duplicate, I posted on the TTC forum and was told I needed to post over here. I still feel like I'm TTC because I have nothing concrete.

How many days past ovulation are you? Just seems super early if AF isn't due until the 10th. My second thought was chem pregnancy. Sorry but you are going to have to bear the 2WW like everyone else to know for sure!

a line is a line if it appears within the 3-5 minutes stated on the test

do you know if/when you ovulated? you wont get a BFP until 8-10dpo because it takes 7-10 days for implantation which is required for HCG to be produced and to show up in your urine

It could be many things. Unfortunately, I think you just have to wait it out. Test again in a few days. If you are pregnant...this is just getting you geared up for the uncertainty and waiting of pregnancy.

Do you know how many days long your Luteal Phase is?

If AF is due on the 10th it is way too early to be getting + tests. You'd only be ~2 dpo if you have a 14 day LP. Do you think you may have ovulated early? I can't imagine you're less than 8 dpo if you've gotten + tests.

I would wait a couple days and retest to see if the lines getting darker. If it does I'm guessing you may have ovulated earlier than you thought.

A good friend of mine tested 1 wk before she was due for her period and got a negative. She waited and tested the day she was supposed to get her period and got her positive. I know its hard but WAIT! You driving yourself batty. I got my BFP 5 days before I was to start but that is just me. Your testing 11 or 12 days before and its just too soon.

I thought I was the 20th-24th the 24th being the day I acutally ovulated. BUT when I was "ovulating" I was having breakthrough bleeding. I called my doctor then and explained what was going on and they said that it could be VERY EARLY implantation bleeding which would mean I ovulated sooner I guess. I tracked for six months before trying to get pregnant, thought I had everything down but obviously I was wrong.

I'm not asking for my own amusement, I am really concered about what is going on with my body!

From what you described, it sounds like you got positive pregnancy tests and that you are pregnant. If that is in fact the case, I would bet that you ovluated earlier than you think and that your period would be "due" (if it was coming) before the 10th. If it really wasn't going to be due until the 10th, it would be EXTREMELY unlikely that a pregnancy test would give you a positive result right now.

I actually had a HPT just hanging around so the day before I was due for AF I took the next, of course it came out negative, so I geared up waiting for AF to show up. I spotted (probably inplantation bleeding) but thought she was here. I waited a 6 days after AF was due to take a test, and it was posetive but very very faint, it was there but could barely see it(was sure it was an evap line). Waited 5 more days and there ws the imediate very dark pink line on all 5 of my hpts. Just have to wait for when af is due and then try testing, or ever wait a few days after she is due.

sorry I kind of have a habit of rambling lol. but it sounds like you have a positive pregnancy test on your hands, but if you are unsure, like I said, just wait til after she is due.

Something doesn't seem to add up here. How long is your cycle? If you ovulated on the 20th of Sept...it's only been 10 days, if it was the 24th, it's only been 6 days and your period isn't due for 12 days. Most pg tests don't offer good results if used more than 5 days before your AF is supposed to arrive.

Personally, I'd wait til at least Oct 5th and then test again. GL.

Exactly. If you ovulated on the 24th there is no way you can have a + today. It takes 6-10 days for the fertilized egg to travel down the fallopian tubes to the uterus and implant ANOTHER 2-3 days to make enough HCg for a test to pick up. Therefore the earliest you can really get a read is 9pdo (some women claim 8 and that is because the FRER test is said to actually measure 12.5hcg vs 25).

Now...if you actually ovulated on the 20th...than you could be 9dpo today and yes...you can have a +. In that case, your AF would have likely been due around the 4th or 5th not the 10th. A FRER test which you can try and use up to 6 days before may give you a +. But remember, it is not guarenteed. Every woman does not have enough hcg to get that positive that early! At this point, you are in the waiting period. If you got a + and read it within the correct time frame and you followed all the directios...blah..blah...than congrats...sounds like you are preggos!

You are over worrying which is common and I think that 2ww makes women crazy One thing I did to help was I refused to even think about it until I could test...I stopped analyzing every symptom, read nothing on any board, I let it lie. Of course, that is the month I got my BFP..lol. GL!

I am not positive but thinking back when I took my millions of tests to be sure...and one of them was first response... their control line is the second line. The first line towards the left that shows up is the line that would appear if you were pregnant. If you look at the directions it shows pregnant with two lines and not pregnant with just the right line. My right or control line was very faint on a couple but the line that appears if you are pregnant came in quick and very strong. Try a digital test, or a test that does + signs if your so unsure. Thats what I did just to cover all my bases haha. Good luck. If you are still in doubt go to the doctor.
