That I need to keep reading to see if she's qualified for the job. Names don't matter that much to me when reviewing job apps, unless they are just out there insane.

I had a good friend back in high school who was named Deanna. She was maybe 2-3 years older than I am. I considered the name for this baby, I think it's pretty.

Wow I'm surprised how many of you know other Deanna's. I haven't met a single other one my entire life. That's one of the reasons I've always wondered what people think of my name. Glad to know it's not as crazy as I suspected.
My sister is a Deanna, so I would think of her. I would think she was probably in her late 30s, early 40s with a completely respectable name.
It wouldn't stop me.

Re: You're looking through job applications and see "Deanna"
the only assumption I would make is that it's a middle aged woman.
It sounds a little dated, but it's far from terrible.
I think she's probably 60 and from a small town/farm.
(I'm thinking of a distant relative right now.)
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
This is actually my name and I've always felt like it was a bit young sounding. Interesting that you think middle aged.
I've always wondered what people thought of it.
she has the same name as my friend Dee..
Jan17 Sept Sig: Pumpkin Spice gone too far
This.
This for me too.
Jean-Luc is on my boy name list
Eleanor Noelle - 18/05/12 Claire Elisabeth - 16/-5/10
Not my favorite name but it would have perfectly fine associations because I was friends with a (poised, smart) Deanna in high school.
On the other hand . . . if the name on the resume were Paizlee or Preslee I would be tempted to discard it.
I'd wonder which way she pronounces it.
Dee-anne-uh, Dee-ohn-uh or Dean-uh
^^^Exactly.^^^

I love this! She's also in a few episodes of Voyager I think. Maybe not. Let me rethink that a second.
HA! I actually have really big curly hair too.
Shoulder pads though, I'll have to look into that.
This is exactly what I was thinking!

Sorry, but this. And also some obnoxious gum.
My sister-in-law's name is Deanna. I know a couple others that are work contacts. I think it is an ok name.
This.
This!!
For Better or For Worse!
Seriously, though, I don't think anything bad about it--it's a middle of the road name, IMO, nothing fancy, but nothing trashy either.

This, she can't help what her parents named her. I'm more interested in her skills and how she meets the job requirements.

What about "Paisley"?
