Baby vibrating/shivering/shaking

Have any of you felt the baby do a shivering sort of thing? LO has only done it maybe 2 or 3 times and it lasts for 2 seconds but it's definitely not hiccups! I've read it can possibly be sneezing. It feels just like when I get a cold chill and kind of shake.

  • YES!  Weird feeling.  I don't know how he does those ultra quick vibrations if it's not a sneeze.  I almost started worrying that he was have some type of seizure or something it was so bizarre.  He does it every now and then.  He also has a severely quick kick as if he's hyped up on RedBull or something!

  • My LO does it once or twice a week. Good to know it is pretty standard.
  • Glad to hear you have all felt this too.  I was worried about seizures.

  • Yes! My baby does this at least a few times a week and I had worried about seizures too. I tell ya, the things we worry ourselves with... it is a really strange feeling though. You have to wonder what baby is doing to move that fast. Glad to see that it looks pretty common.

  • This happens to me often.  It usually happens right when I lay down.  I've been wondering about it too.  Glad to hear that it isn't that uncommon.

  • My baby was doing that a while ago, and I called the dr because it freaked me out. They said the shaking feeling can be from the baby pushing on the uterus and it's actually the muscles kind of shaking.

I was thinking the same thing!  I'm glad I'm not the only one.  Pregnancy is scary all around, so we are super paranoid about every little thing.  Unfortunately, I don't think the paranoia gets much better after they're born...
