Bummed. DH got called in. :o(

DH works 4 on, 4 off and is on call once every 6 weeks or so.  He had Wed-Sat off.  Yesterday I did get out alone and hit a few stores (Once Upon a Child).

However today I was supposed to go to get my motorcycle license (I won a Harley about a month ago so DH & I spent the weekend taking the classes) and now he is gone.  I can't take the kids in the testing area, so I am hoping a friend can take the kids for an hour (to get there, take the test & get home).

Tomorrow he is going deer hunting with a friend.

    Is your DH a firefighter? My dad was and even when he had 4 days off he worked another job teaching rescue classes - he's crazy, I don't know how my mom dealt with it :) I guess double income...

    Nope.  There are a lot of powerplant and refineries up here, so that is what he does.  The plants work 24/7, so they have to work regardless of the day of the week or holiday.

    One of my training partners used to work at a refinery and that's one thing he's glad he doesn't have to deal with anymore.  With the job he was doing he hardly got a moment to himself even if he was making good money.
