Ladies, Im in AA county (Piney Orchard to be specific) and will be going back to work full time after baby is born.
Our problem is DH and I both work shift work. Nurse and Cop relationships work great except when day care is 9-5 monday - friday and I work 12 hour shifts.... Both of us work weekend, but not every weekend. Our parents can help but cant be the main stay.
I was wondering how you ladies went about finding child care and if any of you had similar time issues. Are places open late or early? when did you start looking? I'm not due till early March. But I'm hoping this is thinking ahead.
Thanks
Re: Child Care
I haven't used it, but I've heard a lot of people use care.com to find in home nannies, which sounds like it might be a good fit for you. You can specify the hours you are looking for when you place an ad, and a description, so it might be worth a try.
We go to a center in gambrills that I believe is open 6 to 6, many centers have a wider range of hours because they have staff rotating in and out during the day.
I don't have any experience with this, but my guess is that daycare centers would be out because they don't normally have really late hours. You might have luck with an in-home provider, but probably your best bet would be a nanny.
MDChildCare.org is a good resource, and there was another list of licensed in-home providers but I can't find the link right now. We started looking when I was 18 weeks and booked when I was 24-ish weeks. It's good to start looking early but some in-homes won't book that far in advance.

I know Kinder Care offers 6:30am to 6:30pm hours.
Celebree might as well, not sure? My daycare only operates 7am to 6pm, I would love for that extra half hour on the front and back end though!
