My daycare just asked if he could do an art project with cool whip and pudding. They wouldn't be ingesting it--just finger painting with it. I know my DS1 had a severe milk allergy but we never actually did anything like this so not sure if he would have reacted. We know DS2 has a milk allergy and is on Alimentum for it (formula).
WWYD??? WDYT? I'm tempted to say 'try it'--but not sure how severe of a reaction if he does have one. We don't have an epi pen for him obviously.

Re: xp: question for milk allergic little ones
no way.
J played with the wrong brand of playdough (most have wheat in them) at daycare and his reaction triggered an asthama attack so bad we went to the hospital. He didn't eat it.
Even if your son doesn't eat the cool whip- if he rubs his eyes/nose etc. while playing or if they don't wipe/clean his hands well enough after you'd be risking a reaction. I wouldn't want my son anywhere near that activity until they had cleaned up the whole area and wiped all the kids down.
Absolutely not. My DS has had contact reactions to milk. And I just don't think a little one with pudding and cool whip on their hands will be able to keep their yummy little hands out of their mouths.
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
DS#2 - Allergic to Cashew, Pistachio, Kiwi
DS#3 - Allergic to Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts and Sesame
Is this for the 5 month old? no way! He will put it in his mouth -no doubt about it.
I don't think he should be trying anything at a daycare. especially if you suspect an allergy. If you plan on doing any tests, it should be at your home with benadryl in hand.. or at the doctors office.
That's a huge risk and i would not be the one taking it. I'm sure there are soy products they can find or other activities.
Skip skip skip..
Thanks for rising such important question.
