I've had this pain in my stomach for 2 weeks. When I went over bumps in the car it would hurt, when I go to the gym, when I sit stand or lay down. One day I had a sharp shooting pain and I wasnt sure what it was. Time to call the doc. Doc asked me all the normal questions and then off we went to do US because nothing was coming up in urine test. US tech started and then she was like yep there it is! I had a glimmer of hope just by the sound of her voice but oh no it was a cyst on my ovary that was like 3cm, it had ruptured. Ouch! Its fine now -- resolving itself. Some women feel it and some dont. But it usually happens around time of ovulation. Guess I never noticed it before because I had been on BC.
Found it interesting and thought I'd share!
Re: Trip to the doc...
Sorry you had to go through the pain. Just as a side note, it seems more like a simple cyst than a follicular cyst or "ovulation cyst" those are usual a bit smaller (most reach a maximum of 26mm (or 2.6cm) and they usually only hurt around a few days before ovulation, not for 2 weeks. A lot of people develop simple cysts after coming off bcp's because of the hormone fluctuation.
Good luck this cycle!
