Pulling feeling...?

I am 5w6d and Sometimes when I stand up quickly, the muscles in my lower abdomen, and in front of my pelvis feel a bit like they are pulling. The pressure and pain passes quickly but I am wondering if this is normal. Has anybody else had this problem?

Re: Pulling feeling...?

  • IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE I HAVE FELT THIS!!!

I haven't felt it in a few days, but sometimes when I get out of bed I stand up and cramp so badly in my uterus that I keel over in pain and actually shout and grab at my muscles in agony. It seems to pass, but sometimes I even have to kneel on the floor and carefully stand up!

I have no answers for you as I am needing them myself, but I both happy to know I am not the only one, and so, so sorry you are experiencing the same pain/worry.

Let me know how everything turns out!

  • Sorry I haven't experienced the same. I have had cramps similar to just before I started my period.. I was very nervous that at any point my period was going to start and I was just imagining I was pregnant. LOL

I'm sure it's just the uterus growing to accommodate it's new resident. I hope it gets better for you both!

  • I have had some pulling feeling...It's normal cause all of your ligaments and muscles are stretching and moving. Sometime I feel like I've worked out a weird muscle in my abdomen when I really didn't...not sure if it was from bending or stretching funny but it is a weird feeling I've never had b4 being pregnant.
  • It's very normal. You will likely feel it your whole pregnancy. I'm pretty sure it is called round ligament pain, but I could be wrong.

  • I've had this very same thing.  And my also seems to coincide with when I move after being still for a while.  It's absolutely painful for a few seconds & then it passes.
Blessed to be married to my best friend & so in love with our little man!!

  • Yep, I get it too.  It's common and normal.  It does take you by surprise though!

  • I posted a similar question last week. Someone said it was normal so I havent worried about it since. Mostly when I stand, sit or roll over in bed. Kinda freaked me out at first but since it's common I'm not worried :)
  • Yes I have definitely had this! It DOES feel like you have worked out weird muscles in your abdomen, almost like a tightening. It is normal, so I've read!  : )  Also had some period-like cramping, but I heard that is normal too!!

  • Thanks everybody! I feel alot better knowing it is normal.. I think I am starting to seem a little paranoid, but like every other mother, I just want my baby (and me) to be healthy(:
