Thomas the Train question

OK Nate has almost every.single.train.  Wes I have started him on the wooden version since brother doesn't share very nicely. 

Since Nate has the normal trains he is just now getting into all the tracks.

 Do the tracks work for wooden and regular trains? Which train tracks are the best?

 Anyone selling any?  These tracks are expensive!!!!

    I'm wondering if the IKEA tracks will work with these trains?  They are very affordable.

    What is the "normal/regular" style you are referring to?  We have all wooden, and TONS of it, definitely not cheap!  However, the boys both play it everyday still, so we've definitely gotten our money's worth in both their enjoyment and time spent playing with it.

    We bought the Melissa & Doug wooden tracks.  It's much cheaper than the Thomas wooden tracks and the Thomas wooden trains fit perfectly on them.  As for the other Thomas trains, they do not fit property on the wooden tracks, but that hasn't stopped my boys from putting them on the tracks.  Trains, by far, are my boys biggest obsession and they play with them every single day.
