My OB is making me, would have gotten it today but they didn't take my blood for my GTT so they have to wait until next month.
you're doctor can't make you get the shot, it is an optional thing. just like ultrasounds, prenatals, the gtt, or any other prenatal testing, procedure, or shot
I don't normally get the flu shot so I was going to ask my doctor about it today. However, when I got to the doctor's office, there were signs everywhere saying that it was highly recommended for all OB patients. Needless to say, I didn't need to ask and I will be getting on at my next doctor's appointment.

My OB just informed me at my last appt. he had to quit giving care to a woman who was 350 lbs and refused to take the 1 hour test. You have to think about your baby. As for the flu shot, I answered "nope". I've NEVER had one, and I don't ever plan on getting one. Just a personal thing..I don't take medications unless I'm sick or in need either.

I agree no doctor can make you do this. I'm hoping I don't have to argue with mine. I too don't believe in taking medications unless I'm sick or in need. I'm also one that believes if you keep child's immune systems from things they'll end up worse in the long run. I've been reading research linked to flu shots and babies/children. It makes me really uncomfortable. I think this is another "to each their own" moment as mothers. I'm chosing not to get a flu shot; however completely understand why others feel they might need one.

Re: Flu Shot Poll
Just curious...what does the GTT have to do with the flu shot?
