We just decided to start TTC. THis was going to be my last month of BCP. The last few months I have been unbelievably bad at taking my pills anyway. I was basically just taking them to continue having a regular period. My husband came home on leave last week and according to this cycle its possible I could have ovulated right during his visit. I'm not really sure how ovulation works when taking your pills wrong. I wasn't ready to get my hopes up but according to the predictors on my phone today would have been approximately my implantation date. I was about to blow it off but I just went to the bathroom and had brownish blackish blood when I wiped. I've also been crampy today. My period isn't due for about another two weeks. Could it be implantation or is it probably something else. I've been pretty good about taking my pills this month. I only missed two days that i found out later were the day i "ovulated" and the day after. and that was about a week ago so i know thats not whats causing this bleeding. Opinions please?

Re: Could it be the elusive IB?
It's possible that the brown spotting is just because you recently stopped the bcp. It takes months sometimes for your cycle to balance out and sometimes you can have random spotting until your hormones adjust.
The app on your phone likely only assumes you ovulate based on the middle of your cycle...many women don't ovulate in the exact middle of their cycle, odds are you don't either. Check out Fertility Friend and start temping if you want to know for sure when you ovulate (you can click my ticker to go directly to the site...I haven't taken my temp this month though). It's nice to know what is going on in your body, especially seeing you recently stopped the bcp, your ovulation could be ANY time during the month and it could vary from month to month for a few months at least.
I have been off the pill for 12 cycles, and my cycles still aren't predictable. Good Luck.
Oops my post is supposed to say my last month ON BCPs. I'm only halfway through my pack I was planning on finishing them but if i've gotten pregnant on the pills I wanna stop taking them.
Sorry for the confusion.

That's close to accurate. They actually generally assume a 14 day LP, which can be just as inaccurate.
OP, definitely check out fertilityfriend.com. It's free, easy to use, and will take a lot of the quess work out of your cycle. As for IB. It could be, but honestly, don't read into it. It's very rare and can only be semi-confirmed with a BFP.
