Visiting at the hospital...

I was just wondering what your plans are for having visitors at the hospital? Our hospital has pretty strict visiting hours: siblings of the baby and grandparents of the baby can come 11am-8pm, and everyone else can come between 11am-1pm, then again from 6pm-8pm. I'm actually ok with these hours of limiting other visitors.

The only strange thing the hospital limits, is balloons. They say because of latex allergies, they ask that no one brings them into the hospital. I find that strange, but I guess some people have such a severe reaction to the latex even just being in the air?!

    That is becoming more and more common.  But I think they usually allow the non-latex balloons, the shiny ones.

    At my hospital, visitors are free to come and go as they wish (no limits or scheduled visiting hours) so long as DH and I are up for it.

    Our hospital has visiting hours from 8 am to 8 pm. As far as visitors we have asked friends not to come. The postpartum rooms are the size of a closet and I don't want to feel squished in my own room. As first time parents I would like the time in the hospital to be just for family. Especially since parenthood is something that is going to be so new. I'm totally ok with family coming to visit while we're still at the hospital, I would really like for friends to wait until we are home before they visit.

    At our hospital they have visiting hours and a limit of how many guests at a time. I don't plan on having a lot of guests. Just family and DS. We I want I want friends to wait till we come home. We had friends visit last time. It was overwhelming. Plus I had no energy to make myself look nice. I felt like a trainwreck.

    I'm really disappointed about my hospitals limited visiting hours but there's nothing I can do to change that. I am just going to hope that people come visit during every possible second they are allowed to :)

    My hospitals visiting hours are along the lines of noon-7 pm for friends/family, but DH can stay 24 hours. I'm not sure if DD would be restricted to the noon-7 slot, or if she can stay as long as DH would.
