Hey ladies... so I was wondering how many of you have a tattoo, what and where it is, when you got it, and if you have any regrets about it. I've been contemplating one for years but still can't decide! I'm thinking of a small maple leaf since I was B&R in Canada but now live in NY. TIA!
Re: NTTCALR... tattoo time!
I have one on each shoulder blade and also a tramp stamp. I have another on my stomach.
All the ones on my back I got when I was under the age of 21. I wish I would have thought it out a little better so I kind of regret those but not really. I wish I would have had a plan on placement though.
I love the one on my stomach. I got that one about 5 years ago and that one was thought out.

I have 2... a teeny tiny ridiculous little heart that I got on my hip when I was 18. I wanted to get a tattoo because, you know... I could. So, naturally I got this microscopic little thing in a place where no one could ever see it anyway. What an idiot.
I also have one on my foot that says "Live Simply"... it was a vacation thing, but I actually do like it. I get asked about it and complimented on it all the time. I do love the saying, but part of me wishes I would have gotten "Semper Fidelis"... I spent 8 years in the Marine Corps and never got a "moto tat"... and part of me misses that part of my life. Plus, I just love the phrase period, for a variety of reasons.
I toyed with the idea of getting a third, but I think I am done for now.

I have a tattoo on my arm I got as a memorial tattoo, I drew it myself and had it inked on me. My last name is Fox and my angel I called my "kit" (baby fox)
I think she is always looking over me and it reminds me to look towards the future. The violets are because I love purple and Violet was the name I would have given her.
That is mine. I love it even 2 years later.
I would much rather get a tattoo than a shot or blood work! I love them but they cost too much money that I don't have for a good one, and I rather not go cheap.
I was in the Marines too.
I didn't exactly get a motto tatt but I got a Japanese symbol meaning military on my lower back. When were you in?

You went in as I was getting out. I was in from Aug 1998- Aug 2002 active duty. I got out 6 months before the stop loss and when everyone started deploying. I felt so guilty when people deployed in 2003. I felt like I should be there too. I have considered going back in especially now that I have my Bachelor's. I would go back in as an officer. I was thinking maybe National Guard but would love to go back into the Marines. I doubt I will though.

I have a tattoo on my lower back that I got when I was 18 in memory of my grandmother. I plan on adding a blue bird to it somewhere eventually in memory of my grandfather.
I love that tat..
but I do regret (now) the tat of my STBXH's initial on my ring finger and I will be getting that removed as soon as I can.
I love tattoos and I am planning on getting more. I want to get a swallow on my ribcage close to my armpit near my heart in honor of my lost LO and I want to get "Be Still" on my inner wrist as in "Be Still and know that I am God" to remind me that I'm not always in control. Those are the two for sure right now but I do plan on getting quite a few more.
I have one tattoo on my foot that I designed. It is a martini glasses spilling.
(i tried to post a picture, but it didn't work haha)
I am currently working on a design for my second that i will be putting on my wrist.
I like your small maple leaf idea

♥♡♥ PAL/PGAL welcome♥♡♥I have them, love them and will be getting more. My first was on my right foot. I got a blue rose with a tribal symbol around it. It symbolizes overcoming the impossible. I got it to remind me of my strength in getting out of a horribly abusive relationship (restraining orders, police and many others got involved in that one!)
My next one was on my back, a tramp stamp I guess. In the middle is the chinese symbol for dream and flying away from the symbol is dragonflies flying towards my sides. It was inspired by a dream I had during a very difficult time in my life.
I have a big leaf periwinkle on the top of my right shoulder (not on the blade, the actual top) with the words "You're not alone." My best friend and I got the same tattoo. She and I have been friends forever and have seen each other through some VERY hard times and no matter what happens I know she'll always have my back. The words are actually lyrics from "our" song Crash & Burn by Savage Garden. I got that last summer.
The next on the agenda is actually going to be in memory of our little one. I have gone back and forth on what I wanted to get (originally it was a sparrow), but I think I have finally decided. I'm going to get a butterfly on the front of my right shoulder and the butterfly will be pink & blue since we don't know what Spawn was. My plans are to get a tattoo for every child I have with their birthstone and either pink or blue for gender.
I understand how people can regret tattoos, but I think if you put A LOT of thought into them, they can be amazing reminders. My tattoos remind me of some very hard times I've been through and that gives me strength to keep going through current times. My tattoo for Spawn is a tribute to a very real baby that lived inside me, but I never got the chance to have in my arms. I look at tattoos as just a reminder of life. We all have scars from injuries and scrapes here and there, my tattoos are no different, they are just more colorful.

I *just* got my first tattoo 2 weeks ago. I wanted one for years, but couldn't decide on what I permanantly wanted on my body, at one point I toyed with a Tinkerbell on my shoulder flipping people off. After we lost Brendan, I knew exactly what I wanted. I got his footprints framed with angel wings with his name and angelversary date just above my ankle. This will probably be my one and only tat.

I have two.
1. stars on the inside of my right foot going up to my ankle.
2. Angel wings in white ink on my left wrist. The redness is because the picture was taken shortly after the tattoo. They're still vibrant white but not noticeable. I've had little old ladies who hate tattoos comment on how much they love this one. I got it in memory of my pap when he passed away, but it's applicable for many of the people I've lost.
I got a tattoo of a butterfly on my lower back with tribal when I was 18. And I don't regret it. I'm actually wanting to get another one in remembrance of my angel babies, but I can't decide what yet.
