DD will be 8 months in a few days. I am considering trying the extinction method with her as we've not had luck with Ferberizing.
I used the extinction method with DS at 14 months - Prior to that, we rocked him for every nap and to sleep and it took upwards of an hour each time. It took a few days but he is now a wonderful sleeper.
DD's nighttime sleep isn't stellar (9 or 10 hours but with 2+ wake-ups) but the daytime sleep is the major issue. For the last couple of weeks, she won't sleep any longer than 30 minutes, total, during the day. She has dropped to one nap - I fought to try to keep her at two naps but it just wasn't happening. And now the one nap is 30 minutes. Today, there's been none at all and she's been up 7 hours at this point. We have a routine - I try to look for tired signs and catch her before she's over-tired, etc.
Think the extinction method is okay to try at this point or is she still a bit young?
