Re: Daily Bedrest Check-in 9/28/2011 (Wed.)

  • Happy Hump Day to all- I can't believe I'm already 27 weeks and have completed 7 weeks of BR; I hope time is moving quickly for everyone else!

1.Knowing that we have to let our LO(s) be themselves and follow their dreams, if you could choose they're career for them, what would it be? I'm not sure what I would pick! I know that I don't want my DS or DD to be a Lawyer or a Doctor! After watching my DH and Friends pursue these careers and they work ALL THE TIME...I want my babies to be home in time for dinner with their families! Silly, but of course they can be whatever they would like...

2.It's easy for us to ponder on all the things that we can't do w hile on BR, but what's a positive besides ensuring that our LOs are ok? One postive is that I've actually spend more time with my DS; I was always working/traveling for work that I only spent about an hour a night with him- now that the Grandparents are pitching in he is home in the early afternoon and we are able to play from the couch!

3.What's your favorite song? This is a tough one... One of my all time favorites is "American Boy" by Estelle.

  • 1. If I could choose a career for my LO it would have to be something that would always leave a positive imprint on someones life and someting that allowed them to spend time with loved ones.

    2. A positive about being on BR is that I'm not working late hours or stressing about work and am able to be here at home with my kids. And if I want to I can sleep the day away.

3.I think its called Love is You by Chrisette Michele

Updates- I have my u/s tomorrow morn at 8:15, can't wait to see my baby and get my cervical legnth.

1.Knowing that we have to let our LO(s) be themselves and follow their dreams, if you could choose they're career for them, what would it be?

I don't care what my girls choose for a career, I just really want them to have a sense of independence and success! We will be fostering their individualities and as long as they are happy I would be proud to watch them become a circus clown (Ha... ok maybe there are SOME career paths I'd rather they not take...)

2.It's easy for us to ponder on all the things that we can't do while on BR, but what's a positive besides ensuring that our LOs are ok?

I love the time to read and catch up on all of my favorite shows! I'm not very crafty, or else I would love to be knitting or crocheting things for the girls. I need to focus my time and energy on finding these LOs names!! They cannot be A and B forever Stick out tongue

    3.What's your favorite song?

Hard question! I listen to a lot of country and Christian music, I don't have a specific favorite tho. I like most all music!

I'd want for my boys to just be happy in what they do.  I want them to feel like their career serves a purpose and they find it fulfilling.

2.It's easy for us to ponder on all the things that we can't do while on BR, but what's a positive besides ensuring that our LOs are ok?

That I'm spending more time with my son.  He is still spending time at my mom's house and preschool but we have breakfast with each other every morning which is nice since that never happened when I worked FT.

    3.What's your favorite song?

    Your Love by The Outfield.

  • 1. I have no idea what careeer I would choose for my LO. Something with an ideal balance for work and family.
    2. I mean I wish that I was up and moving, but it's nice to have an excuse to ask people to do something for you. I guess another upside is that I should be caught up on rest when baby girl gets here.
    3. I'm terrible at labeling one thing as my favorite, songs, bands, tv shows.. I'm unable to answer this question.
Update/vents: I guess I'm venting today, but I am miserable. My back and hips are killing me. I had fierce BH contractions earlier, and I didn't sleep well. Sorry for the whine.
  • 1.Knowing that we have to let our LO(s) be themselves and follow their dreams, if you could choose they're career for them, what would it be?

Wow, this is such a hard question. I have no idea what I would choose for him. I would just want him to have a career that makes him happy.

2.It's easy for us to ponder on all the things that we can't do while on BR, but what's a positive besides ensuring that our LOs are ok?

I have plenty of time to catch up on my shows. The biggest positive would probably be that my stress level has gone way down since being pulled out of work. My job was awful and extremely stressful.

    3.What's your favorite song?

I have more than one favorite but one that is at the top of my list is Bob and Bonnie by Houston Calls.

  •  As of this morning, I am on bedrest until further notice. My doctor is concerned because yesterday I started having vertigo episodes and he is sending me to a neurologist for evaluation for something called Meinere's disease. I have also developed a hernia while pregnant and am seeing a surgeon to be evaluated and schedule surgery for after the baby is born. It's been a crazy day but hopefully after next week and my 4 appointments with different doctor's we will have some absolute answers to my questions and problems.

1.Knowing that we have to let our LO(s) be themselves and follow their dreams, if you could choose they're career for them, what would it be?

No clue...I still have yet to choose my own career.

2.It's easy for us to ponder on all the things that we can't do while on BR, but what's a positive besides ensuring that our LOs are ok?

Bedrest is making me consider how thankful I am that things are not worse. I know that my pregnancy situation could be better, but it also could be worse. This is new to me so it's going to be a learning experience that's for sure.

  • 1.Knowing that we have to let our LO(s) be themselves and follow their dreams, if you could choose they're career for them, what would it be? I have no idea what I would choose.  I just hope to expose my kids to a variety of different career options and to try to give good advice.  I grew up sheltered in a really small town and unfortunately wasn't exposed to the vast variety of career options2.It's easy for us to ponder on all the things that we can't do while on BR, but what's a positive besides ensuring that our LOs are ok? I think this experience will make me appreciate family more than I would have.  It is easy to take family for granted and they have really stepped up for me since coming to the hospital.3.What's your favorite song? I don't think I could pick just one.updates & ventsThey moved me from labor and delivery back to antepartum today.  It is much quieter and I have a much better view...I just wish the doctors would come up with a plan and stick to it instead of going back and forth with how to deal with my condition.

  • 1.Knowing that we have to let our LO(s) be themselves and follow their dreams, if you could choose they're career for them, what would it be? - My parents were really supportive to me when I chose what I was going to do and really stayed out of the decision - I hope to be the same way with our children.

2.It's easy for us to ponder on all the things that we can't do while on BR, but what's a positive besides ensuring that our LOs are ok? - The way that my relationship with my DH has grown this experience.  We have both learned to be more patient and that things are sometimes out of your control.  It will all work out for the best.

3.What's your favorite song? - anything by Matchbox Twenty

updates - No new updates really...more tired everyday, 10 lbs of babies has a way of doing that to someone.

Vent - Yesterday my MIL came to visit me at the hospital.  She was telling me that her friend and the friend's daughter insist on talking to her about how our babies are going to be preemies and will definitely be sick everytime they speak to her.  We know that this is a chance but really do you have to say this everytime...  These are the same people that told me how can I buy you something for your shower without knowing the genders.  I told them buy outfits in primary colors as a baby of any gender can wear it and then they had the nerve to ask me where to go.  Some people are unbelievable.
