I hate the post office!!! (mini-vent NPR)

So my grandma sent me a package 3 weeks ago that was supposed to take 7-10 business days to get here.  Never received it to my apartment, no notice in the mailbox, no notice on the door.  Last night I went and checked the mail and there was a final notice that the package would be sent back on friday if it was not picked up.  I sent DH to the post office to get it and they couldn't find it.  GREAT!  My grandma sends me awesome things for LO, and usually throws in a couple of things for me like maternity clothes or homemade deserts or just something special for me.  I have been so excited to get this box of goodies from her and now it is nowhere to be found Sad

    So frustrating!!  Do they have any idea where it is??  Most packages are tracked, so they should have some idea...  

    I'll add my post office vent here...though it's not as bad as yours.  My SIL sent us a photo card/birthday invitation for our nephew's 1st birthday party.  She wrote on the envelope "photo, please don't bend".  Let me just say, I have NEVER received such a mangled piece of mail before in my life.  It looked like someone purposely crumpled the entire envelope.

    Nope. No they told him that if they found it they would let call him.  The thing is the date they put on the final notice card said 9/24/11 was when it was put in our box I checked the mail around 7 Saturday night and it was not in there.  I would go online to track it but my grandma sent it as she calls it "the cheap way" so she didn't get a number...even though they assign every package a number and charge you extra for them to print it out or write it down for you.

     I've gotten mail that says fragile or do not bend on it and they apparently didn't see it.  I know where I work we have been having issues as well.  Our clients are starting to ask if we sent out their mail, which we have, because the recipients are receiving it.  It's the same post office that has a route to our house.
