My DH really wants to go camping and on a day hike with another couple we know. We don't mave any wk-ends off together and the weather here in KY is perfect for camping right now. We haven't told ANY of our friends that we are pregnant, so the couple we are going with won't even know. I won't be able to have a beer around the camp fire, Or even eat hotdogs (not that I really want to anyways) and I am SOOOO constipated and gassy that I am afraid I am just not up for it. I am so bloated I can barely button my jeans and I wake up all through the night having to go to the bathroom...either peeing or trying to have a BM. I am also pretty exhausted most days.
Despite all the symptoms, I think I will end up going, just because I know my husband really wants to go and I really do enjoy camping and hiking. I may regret doing this!!!! but I know once it gets colder we won't have this chance again. So my question is, The way you are feeling today would you want to go camping and on a day hike? Are you doing anyother forms of exercise?
What say you?

I would go.
My only concern would be location of the nearest bathroom (I pee all the time). If you are just peeing in the woods, I guess that wouldnt matter then.
I, personally, would also have a hotdog but make sure it is nice and done

We are also in KY and LOVE Red River Gorge. Plan to go in early October before it gets too cold.
I totally feel you on the drinking around the fire thing. Honestly I had never camped sober until we did a true backpacking trip last summer and it was not at all bad
I plan to take a few NA beers for me. I am not allowed to hike right now, but as long as you are having no issues, a hike may help with the bloat/gas!
I say go. Enjoy this amazing weather!

I struggle to stay awake in my office chair all day, so the thought of hiking is laughable at this point.
But if you have more energy, it could be fun if it's a nice easy hike. And if you have something comfortable to sleep on. Camping's hard to do with an infant, so you might as well try to get it in now
Wrangling babies since 2010
No freaking way! But that's just me!
I am exhausted, feel like crap, and need quick access to a bathroom in case I have to pee or puke. They way I am feeling today, I wouldn't normally leave my house, much less go camping and hiking!
That said, everybody is different! If you feel like you can do it, go for it. Who knows, the fresh air might do you good! However, if you feel like you just can't do it, I'm sure DH will understand. You only have to put up with this sickness until week 12 or so, and then you'll be free again to hike as much as you like for the rest of your life!
Heck yeah! We're camping, hiking, climbing this weekend in Joshua Tree! Can't wait! No beer but I'm totally eating s'mores!
I still go to spin class and work out with my trainer 3 days a week. You'll be fine. Enjoy!
Of course!
I am supposed to be hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim this Sat.. I did have to pass on this though because it is almost 25 miles.. a bunch of miles when I am tired adn have morning sickness. I am SO SAD to miss it though.. SO SAD. I would easily do camping and a 10 mile hike or so though!
Go and have fun! Jealous!
Thanks for the wonderful, positive, words of encouragement! So camping it is! After reading your posts I am actually excited, instead of just thining about how tired I am. I am ready to get out there and spend some time with my wonderful husband and my sweet pup. Thanks Ladies!
