New Kindles (ob. NBR)

Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the new Kindles.  I got the 3G last year for Christmas and that was $189 then and it is black and white display, uses buttons, and has a painfully slow "experimental" internet connection on anything but the Amazon bookstore, but I still loved it.  Now for $199 you can get a touchscreen, color display that has an "ultra-fast" internet connection and plays music, movies and tv on top of being able to read books.  If you just want to read books in black & white and don't mind using buttons they now have a $79 version.  They have definitely gotten better and more affordable!

    I got one last year for $139, it's amazing how the price has gone down! I love my Kindle :)

    That was the only reason I wanted a nook over a kindle.  I liked the touch screen and color.  I am still trying to convince DH to let me get one!  Glad to see kindle is going to have the features I want!

    I love my current Kindle and would never trade it for anything. It is a version with e-ink, but I prefer that to the color screen. If I wanted color, I would have gotten a nook (also if I didn't despise Barnes and Noble).

    I finally got an IPad, and ever since haven't gone back to my Kindle.  I did upload the Kindle app just in case Kindle has the book cheaper the i-book store.  Of course the IPad is more than a reader...so for just a reader, I did love my Kindle.

    I think I am going to wait a while before purchasing the newest one.  Experts on CNN claim that Amazon rushed to get it out before the holidays for sales.  That makes me wary of problems and issues with it...but I am paranoid like that.
