I need some advice. TTC for 6 cycles, starting 7 today. I have been using OPKs for the past few months but keep hearing a lot about charting. What is the difference? Is charting better? Seems like a lot is invloved in charting. Any advice or helpful websites would be great!

Re: OPK vs Charting
FertilityFriend.com. Take the tutorials, they're great. The free version of the site is more than adequate, but you can pay for more features.
Taking Charge Of Your Fertility (TCOYF) is a great book that goes into more explanation. Try FF first.
Umm no, you have that backwards.
OPKs detect your the hormone LH which your body produces while gearing up to ovulate. Temping confirms that ovulation occured. You can get a +opk and not ovulate which is why both are recommended. OPK predict, temping confirms.
Huge difference, an OPK can be interpreted wrong and doesn't necessarily confirm O. charting does and it's not as hard as it appears at first. Good Luck
I love charting for 2 reasons, it confirms O and it gives you an idea if AF is rearing her ugly head ;p I tried OPK sticks the first month and gave it up quickly they were annoying so we just got the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor and it has been AMAZING. I am learning exactly when I ovulate - hoping this is our month
