When do you plan on TTC again?

I'm bored this morning.  LO went down for his first nap with ZERO fuss, and after our night I'm chugging back coffee like its going out of style.

I know some may moms are already KU, but for the rest of us, when do you plan (if you do) on TTC again?

It's been on my mind a lot because I have a couple friends who are pregnant, and I don't want to go back to work after this one. (Although, I have to, and I will)

We need to wait for me to work 600 hours back at work to qualify for mat leave again.  Right now we're talking about when LO is about a year. But DH did mention 8 months. :)   I don't know if its baby fever, or if its that LO has gotten so much easier after he hit 3 months.

What is your timeline?

We've been talking about this a lot lately. The goal for us is after our second child I'll become a SAHM. So we're working some financial items out between us and then we'll get serious. Probably 2 years from now we'll be thinking about trying again.

I might be the minority but we aren't planning on TTC again until Charlotte is closer to 3 years old. We only want 2 though, but I like the age diff of 4 years apart. Plus that will help out a lot b/c daycare is EXPENSIVE!!!!

Probably never.  K is #2.  We wanted kids 2-3 years apart, but once we had our first we realized that 3 years was better for us.  A was a very difficult baby (7 months of all day colic) so we had to recover from, what DH calls, the "trauma" first.

This except we may be on the one and done track. Still up in the air.

Never :) My DH is having his surgery in 2 weeks :happy dance:

I really love the spacing of our kids.  DS will be 3 next weekend, which puts them at almost 2.5 years apart.  Perfect, IMO.   Oh, and waiting until your little guy is mobile might change your mind a bit :)

We will probably start trying again in early 2014. We just can't afford daycare for a second child right now and I would like to enjoy DD for a while before going through pregnancy and the newborn stage again.

Probably in the beginning of next year if DH is here by then and no deployment is in sight. I wouldn?t want another newborn growing up without DH around.

We are thinking of TTC again in the spring since it took so long to get pregnant with LO.   I'm not planning on going back to work until all our kids are in school,  so it makes sense for us to have them closer in age.

My biggest criteria is that I want to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight/size/shape before starting to try for another.  I don't want to add more baby weight on top of the baby weight I currently still have. So if I haven't reached that point by the spring, I might re-evaluate our plan.  It sounds vain, but it gives me motivation to get back into shape.

This for me too.  I don't want to add on ten pounds for each kid.  I need to get back to my pre-preg weight before we TTC our next.   I

After DD turns 1, we'll start to think about our timeline to start trying again.  We both like the idea of keeping them around 2 years apart in age.  I'd be happy to be done with all diapers sooner rather than later!

Haha!  The thought of him crawling/walking terrifies me!  Even the rolling is throwing me for a loop.  You leave him in the middle of the crib, and wake up to him screaming because his head (and most of the rest of him) is jammed into the corner against the wood. :(

When DD is 2, or almost 2.  So right now I'm thinking July of 2013.  I'd like DD and #3 to be three years apart.

Ditto.  We got two for the price of one.  DH  had his surgery while the boys were still in the NICU.

I would love to start trying when DD is 1, but financially it will probably be closer to 2.  Either way, I don't want them much further apart than 2.5 or 3 years if I could choose.  Hopefully things work out and we don't have any trouble making #2.

Ditto- we have full day JK once DS is 4- I'd rather only be home all day with one child. I like the special time I'm spending with DS and want our next baby to have that as well.

DH and I aren't trying or preventing right now, so there's no telling when I'll be pregnant again.  But ideally, I'd want to get pregnant next spring.  I'll have graduated and we'll be making plans to move back to our hometown.

It's been forever since I've been on. Hi everyone! I always said I wanted two but we might be one and done. We haven't fully discussed it though. But I feel so fulfilled at the moment with my baby girl that our family feels complete. At least for now, #2 isn't on our radar!

Welcome back! I've wondered where you've been.

We are waiting until Eliza is 2. We can't afford two in daycare and DH is in school full time and so I am the only one working. So we'll wait and by the time the next is born DH will be done with school (hopefully). After that we will have one more and those two will be close in age. I want to be done by 35 so I only have 4 1/2 more years to get them popped out.

This has been a hot topic in our house lately! Our original plan was to try again once DS turns 1, but I'm going back and forth about trying sooner than that.

I think we'll probably just have me finish out my minipill subscription and then not prevent and see what happens. I'll run out of it right about the time DS turns 1.

Originally, it was going to be when we got the 6 week all clear.  But we were concerned that I might need more time to get healthy again before TTC.

So then it was when she was 6-9 months old.  Which is still the current plan (sort of).  Of course, now I'm looking at grad school for 28 months.  School would start in August 2012.  If I get accepted, I honestly don't know when.  I'm 39, so it will be sooner rather than later.

Ideally in 3 years when DD is at least 3 that being said, I can't take regular B/C and my paragaurd is giving me issues, so if that has to come out it may be sooner.  DH said he wasn't going back to DTD with condoms so if I get pg sooner I will get my tubes tied after that.

I know we want at least one more.... maybe 2-3 more.  I loved my midwife and birth experience here, so I'd love to have at least one more before we move- but DH wants to go to Ohio State for grad school and we plan to move to AK within the next 5 years hopefully... so who knows.

I go back and forth all the time. My orginal plan was I wanted my kids 5 years apart. Then I wanted one right now! Then I didn't want any ever again. *sigh*

I think it'd be best to wait to TTC in a year and a half to two years. It took me a year to conceive DS, who knows how long it will take to have another. I really want one more. I want DS to have someone to go through life with.

I originally thought I wanted 2u2 but I am rethinking that one! I grew up as the middle child of 3u4 and thought it was a great age gap to have. We were all two years a part in school.

DD is just so much work that I can't even really think of TTC any time soon. I think I would shoot for them to have more like a 3 year age gap, but DH is still pretty set on a 2 year age gap. We might compromise and try for a winter baby this time so that they'd be 2.5 years apart.

Wait.. did I read that some May mom's are KU again? I think my ute would curl up and hide in a corner if I got pregnant again any time soon. More power to you ladies!

I used to be on the one and done train, but I think that maybe in another year or so, I'd like another. Maybe. It took us 3 years to get a sticky baby, so who knows. I'm cool with it if we only have J. The thought of another round of IF/pregnancy loss/ difficult pregnancy makes me shudder right now.

Our LO came as a surprise, about 10 years earlier than my husband and I had planned. That being said, we have always wanted our kids to be close in age, so I think we might actually "try" to conceive baby #2 pretty soon.....even as early as this spring, or maybe we'll wait to throw caution to the wind until after DD's first birthday.

I think I have DH convinced to start TTC again in 3-4 yea rs when DD is in preschool and DS is in 1st grade, that way if i have another rough pregnancy the kids are able to take care of themselves more. I really want another one but the thought of another rough pregnancy scares me.

Plus it took us a year to get KU with a sticky baby, so we are going to plan on it taking just as long the next time around and we won't be doing any fertility treatments this next time around. If after a year of TTC we are not KU we will look into adoption or fostering.
