I'm bored this morning. LO went down for his first nap with ZERO fuss, and after our night I'm chugging back coffee like its going out of style.
I know some may moms are already KU, but for the rest of us, when do you plan (if you do) on TTC again?
It's been on my mind a lot because I have a couple friends who are pregnant, and I don't want to go back to work after this one. (Although, I have to, and I will)
We need to wait for me to work 600 hours back at work to qualify for mat leave again. Right now we're talking about when LO is about a year. But DH did mention 8 months. I don't know if its baby fever, or if its that LO has gotten so much easier after he hit 3 months.
What is your timeline?
Re: When do you plan on TTC again?
We've been talking about this a lot lately. The goal for us is after our second child I'll become a SAHM. So we're working some financial items out between us and then we'll get serious. Probably 2 years from now we'll be thinking about trying again.
This except we may be on the one and done track. Still up in the air.
Never My DH is having his surgery in 2 weeks :happy dance:
I really love the spacing of our kids. DS will be 3 next weekend, which puts them at almost 2.5 years apart. Perfect, IMO. Oh, and waiting until your little guy is mobile might change your mind a bit
DD2: February 2014
My biggest criteria is that I want to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight/size/shape before starting to try for another. I don't want to add more baby weight on top of the baby weight I currently still have. So if I haven't reached that point by the spring, I might re-evaluate our plan. It sounds vain, but it gives me motivation to get back into shape.
Baby #2 on the way!
This for me too. I don't want to add on ten pounds for each kid. I need to get back to my pre-preg weight before we TTC our next. I

Haha! The thought of him crawling/walking terrifies me! Even the rolling is throwing me for a loop. You leave him in the middle of the crib, and wake up to him screaming because his head (and most of the rest of him) is jammed into the corner against the wood.
Ditto. We got two for the price of one. DH had his surgery while the boys were still in the NICU.
Ditto- we have full day JK once DS is 4- I'd rather only be home all day with one child. I like the special time I'm spending with DS and want our next baby to have that as well.
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.
BFP #2 4/9/12, EDD 12/16/12, M/C Rory 4/24/12.
BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
Never. Just made my appointment for next week to discuss permanent birth control options.
We always thought we'd only want one, and LO has solidified that for us. We're done.
I would like to start trying the end of this year/beginning of next year, but I want to continue breastfeeding so if I don't get my PP period soon looks like it will be later.
Welcome back! I've wondered where you've been.
We are waiting until Eliza is 2. We can't afford two in daycare and DH is in school full time and so I am the only one working. So we'll wait and by the time the next is born DH will be done with school (hopefully). After that we will have one more and those two will be close in age. I want to be done by 35 so I only have 4 1/2 more years to get them popped out.

Meimsx no more
This has been a hot topic in our house lately! Our original plan was to try again once DS turns 1, but I'm going back and forth about trying sooner than that.
I think we'll probably just have me finish out my minipill subscription and then not prevent and see what happens. I'll run out of it right about the time DS turns 1.
Originally, it was going to be when we got the 6 week all clear. But we were concerned that I might need more time to get healthy again before TTC.
So then it was when she was 6-9 months old. Which is still the current plan (sort of). Of course, now I'm looking at grad school for 28 months. School would start in August 2012. If I get accepted, I honestly don't know when. I'm 39, so it will be sooner rather than later.

Next May (when our LO will be 1 year)
never... husband had a vasectomy a month ago.
I think it'd be best to wait to TTC in a year and a half to two years. It took me a year to conceive DS, who knows how long it will take to have another. I really want one more. I want DS to have someone to go through life with.
I originally thought I wanted 2u2 but I am rethinking that one! I grew up as the middle child of 3u4 and thought it was a great age gap to have. We were all two years a part in school.
DD is just so much work that I can't even really think of TTC any time soon. I think I would shoot for them to have more like a 3 year age gap, but DH is still pretty set on a 2 year age gap. We might compromise and try for a winter baby this time so that they'd be 2.5 years apart.
Wait.. did I read that some May mom's are KU again? I think my ute would curl up and hide in a corner if I got pregnant again any time soon. More power to you ladies!
I used to be on the one and done train, but I think that maybe in another year or so, I'd like another. Maybe. It took us 3 years to get a sticky baby, so who knows. I'm cool with it if we only have J. The thought of another round of IF/pregnancy loss/ difficult pregnancy makes me shudder right now.
I think I have DH convinced to start TTC again in 3-4 yea rs when DD is in preschool and DS is in 1st grade, that way if i have another rough pregnancy the kids are able to take care of themselves more. I really want another one but the thought of another rough pregnancy scares me.
Plus it took us a year to get KU with a sticky baby, so we are going to plan on it taking just as long the next time around and we won't be doing any fertility treatments this next time around. If after a year of TTC we are not KU we will look into adoption or fostering.
