Hungry all the time??

Is anyone else hungry all the time? I know I'm not "eating for two" yet, and am working hard to not really eat more than I usually do (helped by m/s) but I feel like I am hungry so quickly after eating! For example, I made myself what would normally be a big dinner about 3 hours ago, which I expected to hold me over until morning. But now I am STARVING. This has been happening regularly recently, especially at night. Anyone else?

Re: Hungry all the time??

  • Yes, this happens to me at night because I usually don't feel like eating much during the day.  So when I feel better at night I just eat whatever I want!  I will eat dinner and then need a snack 30 minutes later.

  • I know exactly what you mean! It is actually a bit frustrating for me because I didn't think I should be eating any differently yet.  But I have found that, for me, eating more often actually helps keep my moods a little bit more in check due to a more even blood sugar. So maybe that is your body's way of trying to help you out? (:

  • I am the same and actually feel MORE nausea if I don't eat something every 2-3 hrs!

  • Yep!  Like I posted earlier...I feel like such a heifer!  Grazing all day long...sigh.

At night I feel like I get hungrier quicker too...and I think that's why I wake up feeling so crummy.  It's been too long since I've eaten last.  Oh, and crackers by my bed don't work.

    Blehhhhh...

  • I'm also hungry all the time! I have to snack all day and I feel sick if I eat too big of a meal. It's crazy. I'm also concerned about my calorie intake, but I've been getting headaches if I don't eat. I figure that my body is telling me what I need so I'm just going to eat when I'm hungry and try to make the best choices I can, which isn't easy when most veggies make me gag Stick out tongue

  • Same here! I have absolutely no morning sickness/food aversions whatsoever. So while most people are losing weight in the first trimester because of the nausea, I'm gaining weight because I'm always hungry and eating more. I didn't think you were supposed to be so hungry this early on in the pregnancy! The one good thing is that I am at least eating healthier than usual.

this is so me! i eat & with in 2 hours, i feel my tummy growling again. this is so not like me. i used to be able to not eat until like 9am, then lunch @ 1 & dinner at like 6:30. now i eat a small breakfast at 6:45, tummy growling by 9:30, then again at like 11:30, then again for lunch time @ 1, then i  ussually need a small snack befor dinner 630-7ish. its a bt rediculous, lol! but everyone says you have to listen to your body, if its saying eat, then you need to eat. Lots & lots of healthy snacks surround me all day at work Stick out tongue

  • OK, sounds like I'm not alone! It is frustrating because I'm trying hard not to be one of "those" pregnant ladies who uses their pregnancy as an excuse to eat like mad...but my body is really telling me it wants to eat! I'll just keep following it and remembering I'm likely eating *less* at a time, since when I am hungry, I get sick, and if I eat too much, I get sick. Just can't win!

  • This happens to me.

What I've started doing is eating less at each meal but eating more frequently, or else I'd be stuffed for a half hour and then starving again, so this way i'm not stuffed but still starving in a half hour, you know what I mean?  so then I feel justified in having another small snack. I think this is also helping me to keep any nausea at bay.
