I just came across this baby esstentials list on thebump. I haven't seen it before and I know there's been some "what do I absolutely need" questions. I think it seems like a pretty easy list.
So, just in case people were still wondering what to have on hand..here's the link!

Re: Essential baby items list
I agree, that seems like way too many cloth diapers to be considered "essential", plus the part with 2-3 boxes of newborn size, DD was never in newborn size, so not essential to have that many.
We had 4 bottles with 4 nipples. That was enough for us.
We do not have a changing table or a changing pad and have no plan on getting one for this LO. Again, nice, but not essential.
I also don't think a nail clipper is an "essential". I only use a nail file on DD and when she was little we could peel off the nails. I tried cutting them, and each time I tried I drew blood. I cannot bring myself to attempt it again.
Thank you!
I have a little bit of shopping to do these next few weeks.
I think the cloth diaper count has to be an error. 6-10 dozen diapers? That's insane. If you have 2 dozen, you can wash every other day and you'll be fine.
I agree that some of the stuff on there isn''t exactly "essential". We don't have a changing table or dresser to use as a changing table. Yet we've somehow managed to make it through almost 2 years of diapering.
A lot of the other quantities seem about right and most of the items they list are nice to have on hand.
Good points though I didn't even look at cloth diapering as I don't plan on doing that and wouldn't even know where to begin with the count. Good to know I won't need that many boxes of diapers!
This is WAY more condensed than any of the other lists I've seen floating around as a FTM. I know I was looking for something similar so I thought I'd share:)
