Hi ladies!
I've lurked a little bit here while TTC and am cautiously excited to be in early first tri now. I have been training for a half marathon in November, but will probably not run the race, but I may (depending on how I feel) keep training with my friends who are running up to 10 miles or so. I ran an easy 8 this morning and felt good. (I've gotten the thumbs up from doctor to keep running as long as I'm not overworking myself.)
Just wanted to see who else out here was "running for two" or who was able to run throughout their pregnancies.
Re: Pregnant Runners Roll Call?
I was due last Wednesday (21st) and am still kinda-running. I now do intervals of jogging at a 5-6, then walking. I ran up until about 34 weeks, then my back pain got unbearable. I'd say if your doctor gives you the okay, keep going. It really does make me feel TONS better! Aaaand, you can buy adorable/comfortable exercise tank tops at twoforfitness.com that say Running For Two. I bought about 4 different tanks:)
Still chugging along albeit much, much slower. Training for a half on 10/15 also (Columbus, OH). No time goals obviously but still doing really well. Hoping my abdominal ligament pain doesn't get any worse (or maybe gets better....here's hoping).
I see a PP is doing the Baltimore half 10/15. I ran the full back in 2008, it was GREAT!
Currently back stateside but missing Kenya!
I'm new to the bump, and early still, (6 weeks along) but I am still running. I am wayyyy slower now and in fact, it was one of my first symptoms before I found out.
I'm not training for anything, but my goal is to keep up my current weekly mileage of 25-30 mpw that includes one long run of 9-10 miles for as long as I can, and as long as I have time for as it takes me longer to run 5 miles after work than before.

CONGRATS BREEZY!!!!!!!!!! When are you announcing?
And I'm 34 weeks on Friday and still running. I don't run longer than 4 miles though.
I feel like a weenie compared to all you ladies, but I'm 11w5d and running along just fine. I did a 5K + 7 miles on Sunday and was feeling a bit sore afterwards (but I think it's because I had an hour break between racing and running the last 7). I am hoping to PR my half, which is less than 4 weeks away now!
All of you ladies are truly inspiring! I want to keep running as long as I can and I love the PP with the calm baby possibly because of the endorphins! Yay for that!
Thanks dear
You are my pregnancy hero! Every day when I read your blog I think man I hope I can still do that stuff, too.
I am waiting to tell my BFF, bro and sis yet, so I wouldn't want them to find out by chance online somehow. My bro is on twitter and everyone reads my blog. Soon!

I'm running for two. I have taken a bit of a break from running every day, instead I go out once or twice a week, then I'll lift and spin other days.
Variety is what is keeping me working out these days!
Congrats on your pregnancy! I ran until 34 weeks with my first son and then switched to hour long walks and the elliptical until my due date. It kept my weight gain under 30 lbs. and I also believe made for a really easy labor and delivery.
I am in my 24th week of my second pregnancy now and am still running. Hoping to make it well into the third trimester again. The worst part at this point is peeing immediately before I go out for a run and then having to pee the entire time I am out! The bladder pressure is so frustrating.
I am definitely going slower, though. For indoor runs, I have taken the treadmill down from 6.5+ to 5.8 mph. It just feels more comfortable.
I am still running 3 miles/3x a week at 37 weeks. With DD I ran until the day I went into labor with her at 39 weeks. I just started having a bit of pelvic pain in the last week or so, so my last few runs have had some walking breaks. And I am waaaaay slower now....

OOh my SIL and I have been training for a marathon in May - the month I"m due! For the next two weeks I have to pretend like I"m still training (I"m all kinds of tired and am not running what I used to) and I keep coming up with excuses not to run with her.
I still LOVE to run and will keep up with it - I"m only up to 4 miles but every once in a while I have to walk a bit.
I am SO glad I found this thread!!! I feel like I am the only person running while pregnant (even though I know this isn't true).
I was running 50 miles per week before I got pregnant...then over the summer was between 35-45...once I hit between 8-10 weeks I cut down to 30 miles per week. I've also slowed down my pace by almost 2 minutes. Now that I'm 17 weeks, I'm definitely showing and it's definitely uncomfortable at times with the frequent need to pee while running. If I'm at the gym, at least I can hop off the treadmill whenever I need to. Just this week I've cut down to 5 miles per day, 5 days per week and am really trying to slow down even more.
So nice to know there are other runners out there!
