Clicky poll on naps and STTN

Re: Clicky poll on naps and STTN

  • J is down to one nap...but he takes a 2-3 hour one every afternoon like clockwork and doesn't fight it, at all.

His night sleep is an utter and total joke...I thought we were making progress, but last night was a horror show.

  • I'm kind of a SS. DD napped great at her in home daycare and STTN, but she is struggling with naps at her new center daycare (I think there is too much distraction). She STTN in both situations. I chose great napper and STTN because she gets great naps on the weekend, and hopefully she will get adjusted to the new daycare soon.

  • When M naps poorly during the day, she tends to have a bad night of sleep.

Most of the time she naps well and sleeps through the night.

This exactly. She usually doesn't nap well when teething/sick. She will nap 1.5 hours in the morning, 1.5-2 hours in the afternoon, and she will sometimes still take a catnap in the evening. She is almost giving up the catnap completely this week. She sleeps from 7pm-7am. She's my rockstar!

  • We don't have great naps, but they aren't terrible either.

Nighttime sleep though? It's as if my happy home transforms into a torture device at 7pm. Bippity boppity boo.

oh man....that would indeed rock.  I am jealous!
  • We are back and forth with naps (some days it's 2 or 3 catnaps, some days it's 2 solid 2hr naps) but DS has slept at least 8 hours a night since he was 3 months old. We had to re-sleep train him a month or two ago and had to teach him to extend sleep in the morning a couple weeks ago, but he generally sleeps 7 pm-6 am now.

I do believe the saying "sleep begets sleep" though.

He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

  • B takes one nap during the day, sometimes two. He sleeps all night from 8:30ish to 7:30ish.

  • My LO naps well but still wakes up in the middle of the night. Sad

  • I chose the first option, but don't hate me too much! It isn't true all of the time... and when he doesn't nap well it usually means he won't sleep well at night either, or sometimes the opposite!

Also, he was never STTN until we let him cio at 6 months, and he wakes up at least 2-3 times when he's sick, teething or anything else is going on that happens to be bothering him...

  • More often than not, DD does not nap, except in the car (we go out almost everyday, so that equals about 30-45 minutes).  On the occasional days that gets an actual crib nap, it doesn't seem to affect her night sleeping, she still STTN.
